Honestly the more I look I the wedge heels, the more unnecessary they are to me but I'll live. The costume is nice.

Those wedge boots are the in thing! Hey if the women of Marvel can rock them (and fight the forces of evil) then it's easy breezy for Wonder Woman! And just look it's a homage to the Lynda Carter years (and the comic book) too!

Most films rarely give us any foot/boot close ups anyway. We are lucky that Tarantino isn't making this.

True, but there are still creatures and enemies in her universe that can harm her which justifies her wearing an armor. Covering your abdomen and your torso (for most part, at least) and leaving your back and spine exposed doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

As for the wedges, I believe they were going for something akin to this when it comes to the greaves and foot armor:

Aesthetic seems to be pretty close.

I'd prefer sandals with flat bottoms as well, but it doesn't bother me as much as the bodice that barely protects her upper body.

At this point, I'm wondering if Jason Fabok and Michael Wilkinson compared and exchanges notes. Fabok's Wonder Woman design in Justice League looks very much like the movie counterpart.

I think it may be a little of both. Fabok had a similar design for WW years ago but DC didnt want a costume change, so he when he got with Johns, he tweaked his original design.

It's funny that DC hasn't made that her official costume but went with Finches redesign.

The wedges are necessary... for aesthetic and ancient greeks wear them so there is the purpose... IMO of course...

These are definitely the kind of footwear I'd prefer to see on her. To me, these make sense. She's tall enough without the heels and these look like they're actually made for battle.

Meh... the wedges won't even be noticed if everybody does their jobs right. It's a non-issue for myself. I am WAY more interested in Gal's performance both dramatally and in terms of how she looks in action.
