It's true cause I live in Kuwait and they are showing the world cup in the cinemas (weird though) so Superman Returns was pushed back to June 26

But we are getting Pirates of the Carribean 2 early!! WOOT!

i think the WC does affect BO numbers. SR's climb to $100M including overseas receipts is real slow. i'm hoping that there would be a sudden boost when the movie comes out next week (?)

My local cinemas are showing the matches too

SR doesnt come out over here in the UK until july 14th according to the posters that suddenly appeared on bus stops over night.

POTC2 is out though tomorrow and i dont know a single person who doesnt want to see it. My college has the day off on monday and a group of 20 of us are going to see it. The release of POTC2 before SR over here could potentially cause more damage to the SR box office takings...
