Greetings all!! Just back from travelling Tibet and South Asia and finally just caught up on a years back log of comics.

We have to pick ten? I'd say that just about everyone outside of the core X-Men team is unnecessary, even if there were excellent stories told with those characters.

I do agree with SuperFerret though. We don't really need anyone outside of the core and most recognizeable characters. Too many mutants now, really.

I never really liked Graymalkin... but his story in Manifest Destiny was so sweet and sad i really feel sorry for the little blighter. Ink is a tool though.

Interesting list though, as I wouldn't call any of them the "worst" characters.... just the obsolete somewhat pointless characters. Considering how long some of them have been around, I really am indifferent to nearly all of them. I think any of them still could have potential if they found the right writer.

From what I can tell none... which made for an interesting origin at least.

He originally believed he was a mutant, and that if he got a tattoo of a symbol he gained powers associated with that symbol, such as wings on his back giving him the power of flight and an explosion on his arm allows him to punch through walls...


....but then it turns out he had no actual superpowers of his own and was just a normal (albeit annoying) kid. His tattooist however was the mutant, and had the ability to bestow powers on others my marking them with the symbols.

Actually didn't mind Stacy X that much, I liked that they tried to create a X-men with a less then rosy background (heck she was a prostitute) and I actually did feel that this girl was from the wrong side of the tracks.

I never actually found that the tragic backgrounds of other X-Characters that engaging (Boom Boom having been molested and been a prostitute herself, any number of the X-Kids being abruptly disowned by their parents, etc.)

But I do agree they did mess her character up to the point where I'm glad they killed her.

True... You read Generation M? She was hanging out in alleys asking passers by for Sex... man the X-Men really know how to look after their own.

I actually quite liked her, visually she looked pretty cool too, till they got rid of the Scales because artists had to spend too much time drawing them aparently. Shes another character that could have been good, but killing her for "drama" apparently outweighed any potential she had as a character.

100% agreed. I like it when X-men sometimes come from the wrong side of the tacks (hell, that's part of why I love Gambit so much), but Stacy X was just too much for me.

What made Stacy X even harder to take was that when she joined there were no female X-men in the pages of Uncanny. They lineup was all male dominated, starring 5 men. After several issues, Casey finally adds a female and this is what we got? I dont know what he was thinking

Sage was fine as Tessa. She didnt start to go downhill till Claremont decided to reinvent her as Sage. She became a completely different character and he kept giving her new powers which served as convenient for whichever plot he was cooking up

I liked Sage, i always thought that she was a pretty cool character, plus all the genuine mystery that surrounded her character....a bit like how Rogue was in the old days.

I wished they had explored more about her feelings why she was choosen as a spy by Xavier instead of being an X-Men from the get-go.

Yeah and Claremont messed her up BIG TIME, it practically ruined Exiles for me. Seriously why doesn't the man just retire already!!!

Sage was great as Tessa.

Plus Nate is one of my favorite characters from AoA...so yea, I just hated how they ended his series.

As for ones I just don't like....Rogue, Storm, Gambit, Bishop, Psylock.....Slipstream

Why did I ever read X-treme X-men? Thunderbird III and Lifeguard......lol.....okay I actually like Thunderbird III.....I don't know why I read X-treme...never liked a single issue.

I don't know why, but I just don't like them....never have really. I'm sorry that I don't have a better answer then that.....it's a shame too because Gambit has a great look and a dark interesting past....and some very original powers......I can see why he's very likeable....I just have never been a big fan though.

And Storm....Same basic thing...i just don't like her.
