After the sucess of comic book movies like Batman Begins, the X-Men and Spider-Man franchises as well as tv series' like Smallville and Heroes, do you think the small screen is ready for a top notch Justice Legue series?

As most of you know, guest appearences by Green Arrow, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash have helped add to the success of Smallville. The upcoming episode featuring the aforementioned heroes' return is a guaranteed ratings winner.

The proposed Aquaman series had mostly positive reviews by those who did see it but failed to recieve a green light as an on going show. I wouldn't be surprised if Green Arrow got his own weekly series after his Smallville appearences. Do you think that a weekly series featuring several DC comic book heroes on one show has a chance?

Thoughts? Opinions?

They tried it in '97. Didn't fly.
That was trash. Notice I mentioned a "top notch" series. The Smallville vibe (to me at least ) seems totally different than that lame JLA pilot.

Nope never. Besides getting all the rights to film it, getting good actors to take the roles and then trying to work the effects budget i dont see it happening

i dont think it would work, bc the properties are too valuable independetly. Now i live action titans or legion.......maybe.

What about a series without the "Big Three"? After all, Bart Allen and Cyborg were part of the Titans in the comics but will (seemingly) be part of the Justice Legue on Smallville though they were never members in the comics(yet?).

If by big three you mean wonder girl, robin, and Superboy....then

no the titans big three were robin wonder girl and KID FLASH

In 10 to 15 years from now, when the CGI on tv episodes are at least on par with Superman Returns cg, then I say yes. If the powers dont look believable, then its not going to work. The only real problem is the budget at that point.

I think Super hero shows that require lots of special effects and costumes wont work. Smallville didnt have the greatest effects and they were fairly simple when they started. They have gotten pretty impressive now, but thats after a lot of success and such. With Heroes again no tights and much of the show is spent on character development while saving money for impressive effects shots once in awhile.
