Now that the episode has aired, heres a poll whether you want to see a JL series featuring Green Arrow, Cyborg, Impulse and Aquaman.

Personally, I think it would rock if they add a 5th character; Hal Jordan (Green Lantern) since theres always been a close friendship between him and Queen and their adventures have been legendary.

I wouldnt want any more main cast JL members than these 5 so there are be alot of focus on these characters and they can all have good chemistry with each other (like we saw in Justice). It reminded me of the kind of whitty banter we see between the brothers on Supernatural, its pretty funny.

Instead of constant freak of the weeks, alot of episodes could consist of rescue missions, destroying 33.1 facilities, fighting humans with advanced weaponary, fighting rogues from the comics etc

With a series budget, they could probably upgrade the costumes too; giving Impulse the red and white suit from the comics with the goggles;

Cyborg a more armored look with a mask;

A suit closer to the Ross version for Aquaman;

I wouldnt mind if Gough and Millar are the producers, but I'd prefer all new writers for this series (since the tone would be completely different to Smallville).

Thoughts?

I would say yes but I have to go with no because Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman will not be apart of the show. Hell I bet when SV ends they wouldn't even be allowed to talk about if there was a show.

Dont be an ass ;)

I stated that I wanted the poll to reflect the opinions for a JL series AFTER the airing of the episode.

There was no way to know whether this would be a hit or miss before.

I voted yes. If they made a JL series they should add 1or2 more members and have Clark help them with a couple of missions (from time to time) or something.

The League doesnt need them. There was some great stories with the league in the postcrisis comics before the 3 of them joined.

It's all about the chemistry between the JLers that makes it entertaining.

Deknight and the others producers said it was a miracle they got Lee,Kyle, and Alan for "Justice" as their schedules were busy etc.

I wouldnt have any direct connections with Smallville, aside from the four characters.

It just allows this show to be a good replacement for SV when SV ends without relying on it.

Plus I don't think theyll let him wear the \S/ tights beyond the last episode of season 7.

I know. But this is obviously some time away. G+M could sign them for the series in time as long as they dont have long term commitments.

Like said thier are no plans for a series, and i dun expect actors to wait around for many months for a show that has no plans of getting made.

You know what I think it is. The CW execs turned down Aquaman after the invested 7 mill.

I think they probably dont wana get screwed over again so their avoiding taking a chance.

Maybe this series has a shot once Smallville is over. If they have to recast certain roles, I'll get over it if they make good casting calls.

Hartley did a great job replacing the previous A.C. actor in MR but even there are actors much better than Hartley out there too.

Like I said, it doesnt necessarily have to be in continuity with Smallville (I didnt feel Mercy Reef was). The Pilot episode could revisit the origins of the characters or invent new ones.

But I think this is a hot concept.

Should there be a JL series? IMO, no.

Should there be a GA series? IMO, yes. Not to mention it's far more feasible.

I would like to see it. It could be good with a decent budget and good writting. Pluss if Smallville goes off the air after next season we need something to replace it.

Yup. There are creative ways to handle the budget. All 5 of them don't have to be in action together every week.

Its an ensemble cast, meaning one episode could focus on Cyborg doing his own thing for example, or Aquaman fighting Atlantean villians.

So now you want an anthology series?

GA series.. Hell yeah!
JL series.. only if they cant do a GA series.. but adding hal.. no .. they need a female the only logical one is Black Canary.
Having Canary and arrow hate etchother in the begining (like the comics) and then ohh yeah .. hot stuff :P

Of my top 4 potensial DC tvshows this is number4

1: Green Arrow
2: Crimson Avenger (with the current Crimson Avenger in kinda Quantum Leap type show without the quantum)
3: Birds Of Prey (a new show true/truer to the comic)
4: JL

No, but with an ensemble cast.

Kinda like how Deep Space Nine had episodes that dealt with specific characters alone (those would be best for when the budget is low).

Nah, I thought about that but a girl on the team would kinda kill the brotherly chemistry the four of them have.

Plus, if they play her off like a tomboy, then Ollie's eventual relationship with her will be akward.

I think Dina Lance is better off being a reccuring character whos Ollie's love interest on the side (and doesnt actually work on his team).

Hal and Oliver's friendship is the stuff of legends though. I would say hes pretty important, not to mention a cool character.

ok ad Hal .. but they need Canary.. she is the only one of them who eats Ollie's chilli, classik JLA moment that one day has to be done in live action..

Like I said, Dinah can be a recurring guest star/love interest, but she shouldnt be part of Ollie's League. They can still do that chilli scene anyways.

And another more relevant example to how the ensemble cast thing works with this budget is Heroes. Often all the characters are seen but usually the action sequences in the episode focuses on a specific character.

I don't think budget would be a problem in that these are all young actors. I actually think the MR fiasco helps the possibility of JL show. The CW got a lot of flack for not picking up a show that became so popular on the Internet and went with Runaway that crashed and burned. They wouldn't want to make the same mistake twice.

I would prefer something like Brave and the Bold or JL task force. Pair Ollie up with a different hero each week. You could focus on the ones used in the Justice episode but you could also occasionaly bring in others. That's an Idea I've had since long before DC came out with TV shows like Birds of Prey or Smallville.
