Would anyone like to see a CGI Popeye movie? I've been think about cartoons that i'd like to see made live action, but some don't translate to live action very well. There lies the CGI realm. I think POPEYE would look great as an all CGI movie.

There was a live action movie of Popeye already made.

    and it IS still excellent.

one of the BEST comic to film movies ever.

I have it on DVD and watch it often.

I know, but i was referring to it being brought to life via CGI like Beowulf.

I liked the live action movie. It could go the route of cgi but alot of people have forgotten about popeye so i dont know how well it would do.

I don't want to see a creepy mo-cap Pop-eye. I don't like the half assing that is should we make a cgi movie, or should we do live action. Oh no lets do half and half. Its either one or the other, and to tell you the truth they should stick with the old live action movie.

The one with Robin Williams? I thought I was the only one that like that. Hidden gem.

If that Tintin pans out, I can see a lot of old classic comic strips coming to life that way. I personally want to see Lil' Abner, either live action or CGI.

I think there's no need for a new Popeye movie, but a Cgi Popeye movie would be cool.

Agreed on all! That movie was an almost perfect adaptation.

I don't see the appeal of doing a 3D Popeye movie. I really don't. I can see why people would do the 3D animated Tintin movie, but Popeye... no, I just can't.

I'd perhaps be interested in it if they made it much closer to E.C. Segar's Thimble Theatre strip. Plenty of humourous adventure tales to be culled from that. If it's just Popeye and Bluto fighting over Olive Oyl, then I'm not going to have any interest.

    I don't mind a CGI Popeye movie.

Only because of the exposure of the character. I mean, I don't know if the show's on TV anymore besides some obscure channel on Direct TV.

This is awesome! Make him grim n gritty by making him an Iraq war veteran and Bluto an Iraninan militant. And have Popeye come home to find Olive Oil dealing with anorexia.

That's what we do to old comics right?

As a fan of the character as one of the first and greatest superheroes...I really expect them to screw this up. I'm pissed.

Only if Robin Williams and Shelly Duvall voice it.
