..he got the part in Batman Forever?

It's a question that just started bugging me. We all know that young Leonardo was one of the serious contenders for Robin (I've heard someplaces he was in the final two?) before losing out to Chris O'Donnel. My question is, would he still be doing movies that are Oscar nominated and date the world's most famous model if he got the part back in 1995?

It's no secret that Chris O'Donnel has struggled to get work as an actor post Batman & Robin. That movie hurt all of the actors (and director) involved in it. Many people consider it the worst Hollywood Blockbuster of all time. So, if Leonardo had got the part instead of Chris, would his career now be dead, while Chris O'Donnel was staring in movies with Jack Nicolson and Martin Scorsese?

It's an intresting thought, I'd like to hear your opinions.

I have heard that he turned down the part, rather than was turned down. Will Smith (yeah) was also after it, back when it was still Batman III.

Anyway, the fact is Leo is a talented and proper actor. He doesn't really go for action movies or summer event blockbusters. I can't imagine him working with such crap as the B&R script. Even if he had, I think his career would recover and he'd still be more or less where he is today.

As far as Leo. meh, who cares.lol I doubt it would have hurt him. As for the others concerned, I dont think it hurt them. Sure they may have got some ribbing over it after the release, but Uma, George, Arnold, and even Joel still have a good career. Even if Arnolds is in politics. O'Donnel and Silverstone were just "flavors of the time".

I find that hard to believe. This would've been 93-94 at best, years before he hit it big with Romeo & Juliet in 96, and then Titantic in 97. You don't turn down a Hollywood blockbuster when you're a nobody.

It's fun to guess.

Leonardo DiCaprio >>> Chris O'Donnel

I'm not really a fan but imo he is a much better actor.
Uma Thurman was in B&R and she is still huge, and a great actress. Plus, she's so hot. :yay:

George Clooney is an Oscar-winning actor, so yes, Leo would have a career.

He wasn't a nobody. He was an oscar-nominated actor. He had already done great films with Robert De Niro and Johnny Depp.

LOL, actually he wasn't 'a nobody', he was one of the hottest up-coming talents of the time and was Oscar nominated in 1994. Instead of Batman Forever he did The Quick and the Dead, Total Eclipse and the Basketball Diaries.

Ironically enough the director of 'The Quick and the Dead' was up for the director's chair but was turned down by WB because he wasn't known well enough: Sam Raimi.

Considering that Clooney has an Oscar, Jim Carrey is still a solid box office draw as well as an accomplished serious actor, and Thurman still has a good career, yes, Leo would've come out okay.

Alicia Silverstone and Chris O'Donnell didn't have work since flop of B&R, I haven't seen them for a while unlike Clooney, Carrey, Kidman, Kilmer, Jones and Thurman have films come out once or twice in a year.

Chris O'Donnell has done The Batchelor, Vertical Limit and Grey's Anatomy. Silverstone has done Blast from the Past, Scooby Doo 2, Beauty Shop and Storm Breaker. It's not like they disappeared off the face of Hollywood completely.

Yeah, they still have solid careers.

Leo Dicaprio >>>> Chris O'Donnell >>>> Marlon Wayans
