Would you die in order to let 10,000 total strangers live?

No, I would not. For every human that died, a vast number of non human life forms would survive. Saving 10,000 lives is a morally reprehensible act. :)

It's a shame this wasn't made with a poll. It seems as though everyone is split.

What if you died in order for the 10,000 to live, but then it would have turned out later that if you hadn't died for the 10,000, you would be responsible for saving 100,000 people's lives?

I'd like to say I would...

But then I think...if you believe in such a thing as heaven, is it selfish to sacrifice yourself for your quick ticket there, meaning you're screwing the 10,000 would be dead people from their quick ticket to heaven? So I don't know.

Hmmm...it really depends. How am I going to die? How are these 10,000 strangers going to die? If I say no will family members be so enraged and try to kill me anyway?

Its really hard to sacrifice yourself for people you don't know. There are so many people born everyday and even though you are a person, without knowing you, I will just see you as another number added to the world population. So for the most part I'd say no.

ALSO: another interesting thing I noticed. If someone asked me to chose between a loved one like my mother versus the lives of 10,000 people....I'd chose my mom in a heartbeat without even thinking it through as I would if it were me being sacrifices

nope if i did that i would be dead... Then i couldnt spend this life drinking fighting and sexually harassing like the good lord intended for me.

Dying to save loved ones like family and friends is an easy choice to make. Dying to save strangers is a bit harder decision, but it is what the policemen, firemen, and soldiers would face as their occupation may poise life-threatening situations.
