mid card title holders need meaningful feuds it is so simple but wwe does'nt do it

remember when orton was the ic champ he made that title mean something

- he beat RVD for the title on ppv
- was in a long standing feud with foley and defended and beat foely at his own game on PPV
- he beat shelton benjamin to retain his title on PPV
- then later dropped it to edge in a good feud on ppv

For the midcard it's not just the title but the attitude of having only a few people matter instead of everyone having a spot like they did in the attitude era.

As someone said, midcard titles just need to have meaningful feuds behind it and individuals with talent holding them. Long title reigns.

Same as true for the world titles but ten times more important. YOU JUST CAN'T MAKE ANYONE WORLD CHAMPION, especially someone who obviously isn't good enough or the company isn't willing to get behind. I mean, and this is really all that needs to be said...Jack Swagger is a former world champion, and he's currently Michael Cole's lackey. And I cringe everytime they mention his credentials, that's bad. REALLY BAD.

Even the early 90's mid card was better. Michaels, Perfect, Bulldog, Bam Bam, Razor, and others. Guys got over back then and thier feuds mattered. Now guys rarely get over, and when they do, they get punished.

Raw has a chance to reinvent the mid card scene the draft gave them a good mic card scene

Swagger
Mcintyre
Kofi
R Truth
Mysterio
Bourne
Masters

Don't job out the champions in five minute non-title matches. If you have to have them lose at all, keep it few and far between.

Don't hurt a guy who is getting over by jobbing them out. I don't care if you're "testing" him or not.

I felt like in 2009 the Mysterio/Jericho fued made the IC title mean something. When Morrison won the title still had that momentum but after Mcintyre it's lost it's shine.I think an IC title fued between Sin Cara and Cody Rhodes could do wonders.

Bryan vs Cara could be this generation's Dynamite Kid vs Tiger Mask.

Here's one I think would work a little better:

Hunter, if you can work your magic again, another avatar please?

Damn. I am unable to download Kong for SVR 2011.

Ah. Have fun man, come back with a full report!

Smackdown 'revenge' tour. Thoughts & Results.

Khali def. Ted Dibiase -
Old school type match.. basically Ted played the cowardly heel and Khali destroyed him with a lot of fan support. Kids here love Khali for some reason

Sgt Slaughter was announced as the guest host , he came out and introduced Pensacola, FL native and 2011 HOF'er Bob Armstrong. Nice to see both of them. CORR interrupted Bob before he could speak. Kane, Daniel Bryan, and Zeke came to the rescue.

Cody Rhodes def. Yoshi Tatsu -Rhodes dominated and did the post match bag over head routine. Which I think is awesome.

Natalya def. Rosa Mendes? = I marked out for Natalya , not sure who the other diva was ( she had a nice taunt where she'd go to high five fans but would move her hand away). This was longer than I expected with a lot of nearfalls. Showed what a talented wrestler Natalya is and they ended her reign way too soon.

Trent Baretta d. Brodus Clay - Clay is massive . Baretta hit some nice high spots. I was surprised he got the win though.

Kane & Zeke d. Slater & Gabriel - Decent match with alot of good back and fourth action.

Sgt Slaughter came out and picked volunteers. When he announced it was for a dance contest, one kid said " I don't dance" and left the ring . That was funny. A teenage girl won and got to go backstage to meet WWE superstars. This lead into intermission.

Wade Barret def. Daniel Bryan to retain the intercontinental title - Really good match , it was nice seeing Bryan wrestle live and hearing those kicks.

Sin Cara def. Chavo Guerrero- Chavo cut a good promo beforehand about being the last of his kind and a wrestling savior. They both hit all their signature spots. Should be really good once these two fine tune their match.

Randy Orton def. Christian & Sheamus in a triple threat to retain the World Heavyweight Championship

This was the best match of the night. Christian and Orton have good chemistry. There was one point where Sheamus got a 2.9 count .. some people swore it was a three lol. A lot of nearfalls . Sheamus did the razor's edge on Christian then ate the RKO to be pinned. During Orton's celebration Christian was looking on from behind and it seemed like he was about to attack. Orton and Christian got in each other's faces , then shook hands and Christian raised Orton's arm to congratulate him.

Orton was extremely over and made it seem like Christian got a lukewarm reaction. Orton walked around ringside end of the night greeting fans. As I was leaving we saw Khali getting into a Tahoe with Zeke, that was cool. Terrible lighting though, I'll have to fix my pictures.

I often wonder whether or not the titles mean nothing these days is because Vince doesn't want the "belts" being the main focus of his show anymore.

He'd simply prefer good guy #1 vs bad guy #1 feuds.

Anything else is either an after thought that has been put together by default, or it's a welcome surprise that ultimately gets forgotten, wasted, or ruined by bad booking.

I also think announcing is a very important factor in getting the mid card guys over, which barely happens anymore since the announcers are too busy with their own damn story lines to be telling us a good story. Some of the old school wrestling matches were SO good because of the announcing.

How about letting a U.S. title match end a Raw or something?

I just feel like an HBK v Razor I.C. title match could have Main Event'd a Raw back then.

Vince is so scared of another Brock Lesnar situation that he doesn't want to push people, and I mean REALLY push them. Not hotshot guys and then rarely have them win matches. You need to build guys up not cut them down. When Vince told the shareohollders that losing Edge won't hurt the bottom line I couldn't help but laugh. You've lost 4 main eventers in a little over a year, give me a break.

WWE needs to let guys get themselves over, and focus on doing quality PPVs and PPV promotion. UFC does TNA numbers on Spike but their turnover is huge, and their kicking WWE's ass.

SWWEEEET!! Yet another reason why Kong is so versatile: her facial expressions. She knows how to tell a story with her face alone. Check out some of her older work on Youtube. She can be hilarious as well.

So, the big question is:

Would Batista have tapped Kharma?

That's the "feud" I most look forward to when he returns.

WWE Raw house show results
.

Report by Mixon, PWTorch reader

(1) Evan Bourne beat Dolph Ziggler with Air Bourne. Afterward, Truth ran down and blindsided Bourne. Major heat on Truth and great heel work.

(2) Percy Watson beat Zack Ryder. Nice finisher. Good match.

Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat came out as guest host. He was interrupted by Alberto Del Rio. Del Rio attacked Steamboat, who was saved by Rey. Punk came out for the heels. Kofi made the final save to a big pop.

(3) Mason Ryan beat Primo.

(4) Jack Swagger beat Chris Masters.

(5) Bella Twins (Divas champion Brie Bella & Nikki Bella) beat Eve. Kharma attacked Eve afterward

(6) Rey Mysterio & U.S. champion Kofi Kingston beat Alberto Del Rio & C.M. Punk. Great heat on Punk.

(7) WWE champion John Cena beat The Miz to retain the WWE Title.

He's probably callin Mason up and telling him that he has to do it for him.
