Sequels Writting Thread: SCENES for FC Sequel

We had threads like this after X3, both about adding scenes to X3 and scenes for X4, so Ive thought that it would be great to have one for the sequel to the very well recieved First Class.

A competition thread could be nice too, but it could be too soon for that, so lest just start posting scenes written by us that we think could be great scenes for the sequel.

It can be any kind of scene, but it would be nice to post dialogue scenes that develop the characters introduced to date, their relationships, the introduction of a new member to the team, the relationship of Xavier with his actual pupils, with Moira.... you know, stuff like that.

When Havok first said "I can't do it here" I swear I thought they were going with the whole solar powered thing, and he needed to be outside.

As for mine, if I were writing a sequel to X-Men: First Class, this would be my opening scene:

EXT. NIGHT - An elementary school playground. Two children, a boy, eleven, and a girl, nine, run through the playground as though they are trying to escape someone.

Jill: I'm tired. Can't we stop and rest? Please?

Mark: We can't. They're right behind us. Come on, sis! As fast as you can!

Jill: Where are mom and dad? What happened to them?

Mark: Don't think about them, sis. They can't help us anymore. We're on our own now.

A gunshot is heard. Mark drops to the ground.

Jill: MARK!

Jill drops down to Mark and puts her arms around him.

Mark: Run, Jill. They'll catch you. Keep going.

Jill: I won't leave you.

Mark: Jill! RUN!

Enter 3 adults, 2 male, one female. They are dressed to conceal their identities, and all 3 armed with guns.

Male 1: Too late, kid.

Mark: Who are you people? What do you want?

Female: We are the Friends of Humanity. And by now, young man, our intentions should be obvious. Don't cry, boy. I'm sending you to join your parents.

Female raises her gun towards the boy. His eyes begin to glow a purple glow.

Mark: You... killed them.

Female: Them. And you.

A gunshot is heard. Jill is seen looking at her brother.

Jill: Mark?

Jill raises her bloodied hands.

Jill: Why?

A second gunshot is heard.

Female: Because you have no right to live.

Fade to black.

Fade in on same exterior. The two young bodies are hung and tied from the swing set. Each child has a sign hung from their necks that reads "MUTIES"

Credit to Chris Claremont for the inspiration. If I ever saw that scene as the introduction to an X-Men movie, particularly one that focused on the Friends of Humanity as the villain, I would **** my pants in the theatre.

Just thought of a nice spin (or set-up) for the psychic battle everyone wants in the sequel.


INT- CHARLES XAVIER’S ROOM – NIGHT
The room is lit only by an enormous fireplace, Charles looks distracted and somewhat drunk, he holds a glass of scotch and sits next to the fire, while someone walks around him, someone who is revealed to be…

You do know he misses you? He talks about you all the time, it’s kinda pathetic if you think about it.

Charles Xavier
(Bored)

On the other hand, she barely mentions you, I do find that sad, it’s just very wrong, one would think you two are not even related.​

Emma takes the bottle of scotch from a nearby table and refills Charles glass.

Emma Frost

You’re very quiet today​

Charles Xavier

You came here to talk?​

Emma Frost

You know what I came for…​

Emma gives Charles a small smirk and starts to undress; Charles gets up from his seat and starts kissing Emma passionately. They kiss for a moment with their eyes closed, until both of them open their eyes at the same time and Emma stops him.

Emma Frost

I think someone needs you.​

Charles Xavier

They can come back later.​

Emma Frost

I’ll come back later. I promise.​

Charles Xavier

Fine.​

INT – CHARLES XAVIER STUDY ROOM – DAY
Charles is apparently sleeping in his wheelchair, and Havok is trying to wake him up.

Havok

Professor? Are you OK?​

Charles Xavier

Yes, I was just…meditating.​

I really like the idea....... it would be really hot to see that....

but at the same time, I find kind of weird that Emma could have some kind of sexual interest in Charles...

Well he's the only other telepath she knows, so they have that in common, besides the Professor might find her interesting cause they can both play in each others mind. The more I thought about it, it just worked, I would really like to see something like this in the sequel.

I find it interesting, definetly.....

I can see Emma playing with Charles like that... but with a really different interest, like an strategy.

But Charles likes Moira, so, they should develop that love plot in the sequel....

Of course, ulterior motives always are a welcome side for Emma Frost.

On the Charles - Moira thing, it's just doomed from the start, there could be a love plot for them in the sequel, but I think it would be an unrequited love plot, sadly Charles has nothing to offer her, not even memories (maybe money), she probably would have met someone for the sequel, and make Charles' life a little bit more miserable, it's good traditional drama.

I really want to see a love story from Charles past.

He is human, so it would be really sad to have two trilogys about the x-men, and no love story from him.

This trilogy should develop all the relationships from the past of Charles and Erik, so Moira has to have a part of it.

And I completely get what you're saying, that's probably why they should have left all the paralysis fun for later in the trilogy and not the end of the first one.

For now on Charles is a tragic figure, and I think, I really think they are going for that in the sequels, that's what would interest James McAvoy, the whole being drunk, and being sad about what happened to him and learning how to be selfless, and being completely unable to be with the one he loves (i.e she's getting married, she can't remember him, she already has a son, all of the above). But who knows? maybe they'll go the happy couple route.

I think the perfect way to tell their story is to see them having a special relationship on Second Class, a good love story, with their difficulties, and on Third Class their relationship starts to fall... until Moira leaves Charles at the end.

That would be a sad final for the movie and the logical way to connect it with X1.

That would be heart-breaking, like hardcore heart-breaking, and Moira leaving a handicapped man at the end of the last movie? how very *****y of her. But sounds like good fun at the movies, very dramatic t:

Its heart-breaking, yes....

but at the end, the relationship with Moira had an end, both in the comics and the franchise, so its a matter of time they show it on this trilogy.

So I think it would be stronger to show it in the last sequel, to have a bigger impact in the audience.

But this doesnt mean the movie will have a tragic end, they can easily have a cool end showing that Xavier isnt alone and will have the help of young Scott, Jean and Storm for the future, as we already saw in the first trilogy.

So its a mix end: sad because of Moira leaving, and hopefull thanks to the last x-men that joined the school.

I really like this concept, hope Matthew and Singer go this route with the last movie.

CUT TO

INT.TEXAS BOOK DEPOSITORY
The room is filled with creates and the window is open, we see Mystique sat by the window holding a riffle. She is lost in her own thoughts but then suddenly realise where she is, She sees Erik Lenshire over by the grassy null getting ready to which he signals. Mystique turns into Mr.Oswald and takes the assassination shot out the window. you then see that Erik hiding in plane sight makes the shot but everyone is distracted by Mr.Oswald... Erik then runs into the sewer where Mystique as Oswald transforms back into her human self out of sight of everyone, she passes the real Mr.Oswald on the stairs and hands him the riffle, Azazel appears and teleports himself and mystique out of there. You hear the police heading to the area where Mr.Oswald realises what happened and starts to run.

(This is how i would picture the scene Matthew Vaugh or Bryan Singer was talking about having Magneto assisnate JFK)

OK, i've been working on this one for the past 20 minutes.

INT – STUDY ROOM – NIGHT​

Doctor Cecilia Reyes checks Charles’ vitals with her stethoscope, while Havok, Banshee and Beast anxiously wait standing up.

CECILIA REYES

You seem perfectly fine to me, is there another reason you called me here this late at night Charles?

CHARLES XAVIER

Actually yes, I need you to drive me somewhere.

CECILIA REYES

No offense Charles but don’t you have people to drive you places? I mean you do live in a mansion.

CHARLES XAVIER

Actually I do, but not at this time of the day, right now all have is a house full of minors.

BEAST

And since that Time magazine article came out that suggested that mutation is contagious, we would be stopped every five minutes if I even tried driving.

CECILIA REYES

I’m a black foreign woman who is also a mutant, what makes you think that driving is a fun experience for me?

CHARLES XAVIER

I promise I’ll make it worth your time.

CECILIA REYES

And how are you planning on doing that?

CHARLES XAVIER

I have more than just the one mansion you know.

Cecilia looks at the four guys and lets out a sigh.​

CECILIA REYES

Fine, what do you need me to do?​

EXT – CAR – NIGHT
Cecilia at the drivers seat watches as Charles and Beast listen to radio frequencies and stand guard outside a bank, while Banshee eats a sandwich.​

CECILIA REYES

Stop a bank robbery?

CHARLES XAVIER

Remember you won’t be doing any of the stopping, just the driving.

CECILIA REYES

You promised me you would never use your power against me.

CHARLES XAVIER

And I would never dream of doing that, unless you would have said no.

BANSHEE

Am I the only one that thinks that it wasn’t a good idea to leave a convicted criminal in charge of the babysitting?

CECILIA REYES

Charles you don’t need to do this, the police will take care of it.

CHARLES XAVIER

The police can’t stop Erik.

CECILIA REYES

It’s not your problem Charles, you do far more good with the school than you can ever do wearing silly costumes and risking your life.

BANSHEE

These silly costumes not only protect us from bullets they also hide our identities.

CECILIA REYES

I can still see your face.

BANSHEE

Not from the sky.​

Banshee runs out of the car, and immediately soars to the sky.​

BEAST

Let the X-Men take care of this.

CECILIA REYES

Nice Name (Cecilia rolls her eyes). Why would this man even need stealing money from a bank anyway? Does he have some band of merry mutants that steals from rich humans and gives to poor mutants.

CHARLES XAVIER

I really, really doubt that.

CECILIA REYES

Are you planning on telling me how you learned about this bank robbery or are you at least gonna tell me how are you planning to stop the nazi killing superpowered man that’s behind it?

CHARLES XAVIER

But of course.​

Azazel teleports outside the car next to Cecilia. Cecilia jumps scared.​

CHARLES XAVIER

Mr. Alexandrov, say hello to Doctor Reyes.

AZAZEL

(In Russian) Hello.

CECILIA REYES

You have a communist spy working for him?

CHARLES XAVIER

More like a sleeper agent.

I actually think she would be a great choice, since she isn't such an immensely popular or known character any writer can just plant any personality unto her, or change her powers, or yada yada yada, but if you introduce a character like Polaris, then you can't do that, and you have to at least comment on her relationship with Magneto, if you introduce a character like Jean or Storm, then there's continuity issues that would sustain these forums for the next 200 years. I still think the solution for the new character is a not-that-popular female mutant (hopefully one that isn't white, and preferably non-American).
