WTF?! JMS Goes to DC!

When he was wearing the Doom armor a few years back he wanted to start the 4 Corps where capitalism would be removed and disease and poverty would be phased out. He wanted everyone to work on their potential and turn the world into a Utopia. Seems like they might revive that idea Post Civil War as part of his, Tony's, and Hanks 101 ideas thingy.

Maybe more socialist but communist made a better retort. :D

:ff: :ff: :ff:

You're probably right. However the good news is that the Thing is a hard core Torrie!

:thing: :thing: :thing:

Is not. :o

I wonder what Captain Britain and Pete Wisdom are now, though.

I'm not sure about Wisdom, but knowing Alan Moore, odds are that Mad Jim Jaspers was a member of the Conservative Party, so it would seem feasable that he may have made Brian a bit warry of said party.

Hmmm, JMS to DC huh? Sounds like a win/win situation to me. Well, except for what it might mean for the "Thor" title. And I don't care what anyone says, but JMS kicked ass during the story arc in F4 about mjolnir crashing back to Earth.

That was kind of a silly story, to be honest. Mjolnir crash-lands, then Dr. Doom shows up to claim it, tries, fails, and runs away. The story ended and I was like, for real? That's it?

No see, that wasn't the point, the point was that it's supposed to lead into Civil War!!

...

...Except that it didn't.

JMS' run on Fantastic Four wasn't bad. It was just hindered horribly by Civil War. If he were allowed to make it his own like Millar is doing (he doesn't have to write Secret Invasion tie-ins), I'd bet it would have been much, much better.

I just learned that not only does JMS not deserve the blame for Sins Past, but he too hates it. That makes him cooler in my book

Pffft, really, don't listen to BrianWilly. The purpose of that story was to lead into the new "Thor" ongoing, which is why I liked it so much, especially since we did see more interaction between Doom and Asgard. It also made all of us just as shocked as the Anti-Reg team when Clor showed up on the battlefield in "Civil War" (which is why it was called a Civil War tie-in.)

That's called "Continuity in Motion" kids.

where you learned that at?

In an interview about OMD, he stated that he was incredibly pissed that Marvel wouldn't let him retcon away Sins Past and the Norman/Stacy twins.

He wanted to get rid of them right from the get go:

J. Michael Straczynski said:
And yes, I wanted to retcon the Gwen twins out of continuity, which was something I always assumed I could do at the end of my run. I wasn't allowed to do this, and yes, it pissed me off. I felt I was left holding the bag for something I wanted to get rid of, and taking the rap for a writing lapse that I had never committed. Why this aspect was not brought up in the other interview, you'd have to ask Joe.

So just like all the rest of us, JMS also thinks that Sins Past and OMD are total ass.

I'm surprised he hasnt left Marvel totally after how he was pretty much dictated to on One More Day to destroy everything he had built in the last 5 years on the title.

It still would have been horrible, but just less horrible.

Which is why I never fell for that excuse. Yeah JMS, ok, you wouldn't have made them Gwen's kids, but you were still well on your way to telling another horrible story.

It maybe would have been better if it were about baby May...

Um... okay, I don't see that. Wouldn't he be sharing his inventions with the world instead of patenting and profiting from them if he were a Communist?

Does that make Ben Franklin a communist? He didn't patent the Franklin stove for that reason.

That's a reversal of what I said. A Communist would likely not patent stuff because he believes everything should be shared among the people, but simply not patenting something doesn't make someone a Communist. You're reversing cause and effect.
