SDCC 2007- Marvel Edition.

I'll wait for the trade if anything. I won't pull a Dread.:o

I can understand a thrice monthly title being a drain on the wallet. But I'd take a Slott/McNiven Spider-Man book every week if I could. This new schedule works for me.

Am I misunderstanding how this 3 times a month thing works. Explain it to me. Slowly....

Amazing Spider-Man comes out three times a month now. Or will. In the near future. Not being an ass, but what're you confused about?

Mostly how the creative teams work out. Like will a Slott/McNiven story come out 3 straight weeks?

And you are being an ass.

It is a bit weird. Will they be, like doing one shots? Or will they continue a story for an arc? If they do that, then all it will take is one crap writer to mess up the whole thing. This doesn't sound like a good idea, but I'm subscribe for the rest of the year, so I'm gonna get it no matter what. They shoulda just put Slott on the book and called it a day.

See, I'm not alone.:csad:

MORTAL TIME WARP KOMBAT!

Also, if you thought the Hulk movie was going to be good, bad news:

Norton then namechecked the Bruce Jones run on Hulk and Hulk Grey as influences (while making clear that they didn't just want to redo anything, but rather spin out their own story).

Hulk Grey barely redeems that comment.

Yeah, it'll come out 3 straight weeks. If it's a 3 part story. Like, if it's a 12 part story, it'll take four months from start to finish. I think most of the runs will be 4-6 part stories. Once all the creative teams have had a run, they'll go at it again, but the artist will pair up with a different writer then before.

If that's the case, I'll just jump on board the Slott written arcs.:o

Yeah, so Slott kicks it off with his arc. Then Guggenheim, Gale and finally Wells. Then it goes back to Slott, but instead of McNiven, it'll either be Bachalo, Jimenez or Larrocca.

I got to ask though, what happens to X-Men with Bachalo on this, and Ramos on Runaways. Because, I was buying X-men mostly because Bachalo's Gambit was awesome.:csad: :csad: :csad: :csad:

I think he mentioned they shifted the X-schedule to let him do this. And he also made a comment about wanting the fans to get their $9 worth. I don't know if he's refering to $9 a month for his run, or $9 will buy his complete run. As in, maybe his run is only 3 issues....

And yeah, he draws an awesome Gambit.

Could the new Giant-Man be Scott Lang?

It would be kinda cool if in the Ultimate Universe Scott Lang takes on the Giant-Man identity instead of the Ant-Man identity. Thats what make the Ult Universe cool, the differences, even the little ones.

Which is "Of Course" Allowed.

Y'know,.. I would start reading the Ultimates if they would just tone down that worse case scenario business.

The heroes are all borderline,.. mostly weaker versions of the 616 universe with exceptions having other things "wrong" with them.

Sigh.

I've not liked the idea of the new Spidey schedual or the mutliple artists/writers, but I actually like the stuff I'm seeing. And though Bachalo is typically an artist I can barely tolerate these days, I think his stuff is my favorate. I think I might actually try to follow along with Amazing for a while.

I'd actually like to know what it is that people don't like about the new schedule. It's more stories, and less wait between them. That's a win-win in my book.

Yeah. I mean, even if you don't like a team or two on the book, just wait a month and a half, and you'll have a team you do like back on the book. AND be able to read a complete story from them in 2 months rather than 6.

The start of Bruce Jones' run was pretty good. You know, the very start. With JRJr. I don't see anything wrong with using that feel in a movie

They've mentioned before that the movie will have the man on the run feel, and that's essentially what Jones' run started out as.

Marvel's currently doing the X-Men panel, and the news...well, so far it's pretty bland. Nothing new to report other than "Messiah Complex" will have an old school crossover feel to them (think "Fatal Attractions"). Cable's coming back, Wanda's coming back, Rictor's remaining powerless....these are all things we already know or could have accurately guessed. One bit of real news (and really it's only a hint) is that there will be a new X-related solo series not starring Wolverine.

Also, for those of us not in San Diego, CBR posted the Cup O' Joe Panel here in video form:

Yeah, that pretty much says Kang to me.

How do you figure? Not that I wouldn't mind seeing that, because there just isn't enough Kang, but I just don't think using the Phalanx would be his style. I could be wrong though.

The first Annihilation's villian was Annihilus. This one's called Annihilation Conquest. Kang the Conqueror. Two and two equals four. You get the picture.

Oh I know. I predicted it would be Kang before the Prologue. But I dunno, it would be kind of a stretch to connect Kang to the Phalanx, IMO. And I think if it were a villain as well known as Kang, then they would have brought him in from the get-go. But if it does turn out to be Kang, I might pass out from excitement. Having him involved in the cosmic part of Marvel is a match made in heaven.

Not book related at all,but I just have to give a big bravo to Marvel Studios.Iron Man and Incredible Hulk are shaping up to be potentially successful movies. The cast for both films is unlike any other Marvel film to date, truly inspired casting with enough A-listers to boot.

I was excited when I saw the Ghost Rider,Daredevil and Spidey 3 trailer.I got the same feeling with that Iron Man footage. Then again, look at the pile of poop those 3 films ended up being,so can't keep expectations to high.

News of Norton writing the screenplay,(no Penn!,hell yes!)is music to my ears. Also, the fact that he's including Doc Samson and name dropping other MU characters in the script is beyond awesome.I bet Jenny Walters can't be too far behind.

Now that the overrated madness of the Spidey and X-Men trilogies are over,it's time to see Marvel make some truly good movies.
