WW maybe set in the 1920's.

I... Don't know what to feel about that in the least. It could work, but it also has a WTF feel to it.

so she's like over 100 years old when we meet her in BvS but no one has mentioned her existence?

It's an interesting way to go. Superhero stuff set in 1920 = could be great

I am so Down for this being a period piece! That's what I wanted

I wanted it set in the30s but the 20s works too.

WW being around this long is genius

yeah... I will leave the pronouncements of genius until I actually see something.

Well if the "Batman is older and Superman looks up to him" freak out was bad, what about a WW that's older than both with 100 years worth of experience gonna lead to?

Still not sure I buy it. We don't have a clear picture of what's going on in BvS which is filming right now, but the Snyder produced WW has a leak like this before even one set has been made yet? There's the whiff of the un-kosher here me thinks.

I would not mind. Maybe Diana is already known to the US authorities because of her support in fighting the Nazis in WWII. But had gone back to the Island and has now only resurfaced. Her true identity only known to a few back then.

Excellent, I wanted a period piece was kinda hoping for WWII, but the 20s is an interesting thing.

I wonder if she'll have to deal with gangsters. That'd be cool.

That's a given. What else could she fight?

Diana is not a street-level hero. But gangsters did use fully automatic machine guns back then, so it'd make a cool bullets and bracelets scene.

You know, here's what I hope.

First film, WWII. I want WWII Wonder Woman. Have Ares be the one who controls Hitler. Ares is conquering Europe with Hitler as his puppet. Causes Wonder Woman to be involved. Maybe have it end in a way that's tragic, WW returned to Paradise Island and never went back into Man's World until Batman V Superman.

Goddamn it, I wanna write this. This is so good.

The second one would be WWII, according to the rumor.

I'd love to see them take a shot at doing this concept. It would definitely bring something to the table, jumping between time periods. Plus showing her immortality.

My big question is how would they wedge the sequels into the already packed slate? Something like this, at least the second film would have to occur before 2020 at least.

The rumor is its pretty much a anti-patriarchy movie taking place in the 20's. If its true, I doubt it is, I won't be watching it it. Theatre dvd, doesnt matter. Tumblr tells me im a sexist pig every day. Don't need a superhero film doing it too.

That's ... different. So, World War I somehow convinces Princess Diana to leave Themsycira to undertake some kind of mission in man's world? Is she trying to prevent another world war? Does she fail, which then leads to the sequel and World War II?

It would be interesting to see that Wonder Woman has been influencing history for almost a hundred years (and potentially even before that), but it seems like they really wanted to do a WW2 movie, but thought it would be too similar to Captain America, so are going to the aftermath of WW1 and the build up to WW2 instead.

Also, I vaguely associate women's empowerment with the circumstances surrounding WW2 and I'm not sure how interesting it will be to see Wonder Woman negotiate 1920s attitude towards women. I don't want to see Wonder Woman putting up with derogatory comments and "educating" everyone about the worth of women for the entire film.

I do like that the "time travel" element is kind of unique to Wonder Woman (with the exception of Captain America who also spans two vastly different time periods). And it will be interesting to see Wonder Woman operating covertly, although I'll miss the brightly coloured costume and public heroics. Unless Wonder Woman did operate publicly, but people just put it down to publicity stunts, theatrics or otherwise "explained" what they saw and history forgot about the "Wonder Woman" of days past. I guess there are various "legends" which reoccur throughout history and Wonder Woman could be one of them.

It would be really cool if Vandal Savage had a role in either the first one or the WW2 sequel, or both, to set up his eventual confrontation with the Justice League. That is, if he'll play the part of the villain in one of the League movies, which I really hope he does.

I still wonder why we should put stock into a rumor about a film that is no where near ready to roll from guys that can't give us any info about the CURRENTLY filming DCCU project with Wonder Woman in it? Does that strike anyone as odd? That Snyder and WB that has done a pretty masterful job at keeping things under wraps would just flub it like this? I am agnostic towards the rumor's details. It's all about execution and it very well could be a great WW movie tale... It just right now sounds like bovine excrement.

The only thing I could see great is to see Wonder Woman being dragged to the 1920's or WWII or whatever from the gods to stop Ares, Vandal Savage or whatever that traveled back in time to change history?... it's the only way I could see this past thing good IMO. We'll see.

Then people would ask... why Wonder Woman didn't show up to help Superman on the MOS events?

But you could ask that during MoS. :oldrazz:

That has nevah bothered me. Hulk was probably busy to help the Cap and Tony turned off his phone.

I don't think you can ALWAYS hand wave the question of "where are that other heroes" But... 90% of the time you can. Some stories or contexts do need an explanation, no doubt... Most of the time it's not a germane question though, especially in MOS. Stuff went down in the course of a couple of days.

I just really like the idea of Wonder Woman first coming to the world that far back. It just reinforces her immortality. I also like the idea that she is this seasoned older soul when we first meet her in Batman v Superman, that she has experienced things that neither Batman nor Superman would have experienced, that she has been through things like WWII.
