Couldn't find a thread for these anywhere.

Countdown Panel: http://www.newsarama.com/WWLA/08/DC/countdown.html

DiDio talked about the impending end of Countdown, and plugged DC Universe #0. "It's our way of saying thank you for supporting us with the weekly series," said DiDio of the book.
Translation: "Thanks for putting up with a really bad book, here's a good one for your troubles."

DiDio then asked the audience if they bought the recent Justice League: The New Frontier comic book special, and it appears many of them did. Cooke talked about the fake house ads for "John Henry" and "Martian Manhunter" comics made for The New Frontier special, and how DiDio said it was like the "Machete" trailer shown during Grindhouse, in that now he wants to see a full-length project spinning out of those ads.
In my perfect world, Darwyn Cooke would not be allowed to say something like that without also promising to do both of those projects.

DiDio then asked Robinson for some comics on his upcoming run on Superman. Robinson said that, along with Action Comics writer Geoff Johns, "We want to make it into the books you just have to read every month"...Robinson talked about the Jimmy Olsen character, saying that they'll be an upcoming subplot involving Olsen developing as an investigative journalist, and also the Metropolis Guardian.
I am so excited for this. I really do think Johns and Robinson are the guys to make Superman mean something again.

Robinson then announced that he's working on a new Justice League book called - wait for it - Justice League. "Hal Jordan decides that he wants a pro-active team," said Robinson. "They never go out and bring in people. This team will go after the equivalent of the FBI's most wanted list, sometimes in different countries, sometimes through time. It's a nice eclectic team of established teams and some oddball characters I've thrown in." Along with Hal Jordan, Robinson named Green Arrow as a member. When writing the two characters, Robinson said "I just imagine me and Geoff Johns talking to each other."
Also awesome. Man, it is so great to see Robinson jumping all the way back into comics. Later, Robinson also says he'll be including Mikaal Tomas Starman, which makes me really wish that Robinson would tackle Mikaal in a solo book, give him the Jack Knight treatment.

Cooke interjected "Who the hell is Chris Kent? Where have I been?"
Heh. Yeah, that's how we feel too.

Will we see the original Aquaman again? DiDio: "Aquaman. This year."
Verily, awesome.

"Chance of a Great Ten ongoing?" Yes.
But still no Phil Jimenez Global Guardians series.

"With Sinestro's popularity, will Emerald Dawn II be re-published?" DiDio, with a disgusted look on his face, said "No! We've been trying to get rid of that for a while."
Wow. I...um...I thought it was OK?

DC Nation: http://www.newsarama.com/WWLA/08/DCNation.html

DiDio, after explaining his Godzilla and Mothra ringtones and text message alerts, clarified that point by saying that subsequent Fourth World material has been other people "trying to execute" Kirby's vision even though they didn't know where he was going to go with the comics. DiDio said that they're trying to integrate the Fourth World concept "more organically" into the DC Universe.
Don't tell kirbyfan about it.

Post-Countdown spinoff?
WHO THE **** WOULD ASK THAT QUESTION?

A fan asked about the upcoming Judd Winick/Ian Churchill Titans title, and DiDio equated it to the show Friends, and how it's about the relationship and friendship between the characters.
That seems like that could be awesomely good or awesomely bad.

This led to DiDio asking fans about their favorite Aquaman - the original, the Peter David harpoon-hand Aquaman, and the current Arthur Curry Aquaman. None of the three received too warm of a reception.
Does that mean everyone likes the Waterbearer Aquaman, or does everyone just hate Aquaman?

Future plans for the Cassandra Cain Batgirl? Beechen said he's doing a mini-series that'll explain the character's recent behavior. DIDio said they're not ready to announce the artist yet.
I know we've already hemmed and hawed about this, but good God that was ridiculous.

Justice League sounds like it could be cool, especially with Hal and Ollie back together.

I have high hopes for Titans, but Im treading lightly

I suppose Waterbearer Aquaman was my fave Aquaman, but overall Im not that big of a fan of his

Everyone should like the waterbearer Aquaman, it was the best one.

Hook-hand's personality with Waterbearer's powers. Get Peter David and/or John Ostrander and do it. Now.
