sorry to the fans of less known mutants, but I hate to talk about new teenagers mutants, when we have such a great and big cast already, with

Halle Berry
Kelsey Grammer
Anna Paquin
Ben Foster
Ellen Page
James Marsden
Patrick Stewart
etc
etc

well your right, there are alot of good actors already cast..but consider this

halle berry is rediculously expensive (i like her, but thats somwething the studios take pretty seriously)
kelsey gramer was amazing as beast, but remember beast was promoted in the end so he is gone.
anna paquin, i want to see her own side story within the movie...where she goes, meeting carol danvers/ms marvel...stealing her power.
ben and ellen....bring them back!
james marsden...also expensive...and a difficult character to reincarnate..same with famke/jean
patrick stewart...bring him back somehow, perhaps as mental "spirit" inside cerebro

so that in mind... you have angel, shadowkat, iceman, collosus, and the who? i say (over the course of 2 or 3 movies) you bring in new characters.

older mutants:
bring back nightcrawler
kristen kruek as psylocke
kristen bell as emma frost
maybe bishop?

younger mutants:
alexz johnson as allison crestmere/magma
kristen stewart as X23
maybe connonball? havok? suge (yes!)?

Beast/Kelsey Grammer isn't out of the franchise, I mean, he can return easily. The end of X3 didn't say he can't return.

Look at what happened with Nightcrawler: he ended with the x-men in X2, but didn't appear in X3, so...

Fox can and will do whatever they want with each x-man.

And other thing, if they want a new x-men movie to have success, they need a well known star (aka Halle Berry, so they will use her, and more, she wants to play Storm again, so there isn't a problem with her. They have money, they'll use it when needed).

you could very well be right....this is all speculation anyway. i happen to be a fan of some of the lesser known mutants, so i am going to be pushing for there involvment, others may not agree with it. ah well, to each his own.

My guess is that Fox wants an X-movie headlined by Ellen Page. But there are some reports online that this is a prequel, so might it be a complete reboot of the franchise with younger actors cast as the Original X-Men?

I hope that Josh Schwartz and Fox looks at the Iron Man movie and how well it did, and sees the box office power of respecting fans and continuity,
while still making a kick-ass movie.

If they are making an X-Men 4 rather than rebooting, they're in a bind with trying to mix comic continuity with movie continuity, and what actors they can get to come back (for a reasonable price).

Beast as headmaster might work, maybe introducing Emma Frost, and Kitty, Iceman, Pyro as the main X-cast, plus a few new characters (possibly Pixie or Jubilee, and maybe someone like Prodigy since they need some diversity).

X-23 could potentially be introduced, but I think she'll be reserved for a Wolverine sequel.

Does prequel mean it has to take place before the first movie or can it take place just before X3?

We can see Colossus and Kitty put on the uniform for the first time, Rogue would still have her powers. Maybe Scott hadn't sunk into the miserable state he was in X3.

X-23? No thanks.

I think a movie about the young X-Men (Colossus, Iceman, Shadowcat) would bomb, and I especially think a movie about the new/young X-Men based on the recent comic books would bomb.

very true, but the "main" x:men are jean, cyclops, iceman, beast, and angel...they are (in the comics) the first core group of x:men....

popular characters like wolverine, storm, gambit, and nightcrawler didnt come around until the 90's

Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, and Colossus became X-men in 1975.

Yeah, Gambit is the only character of that group who was introduced in the 1990s.

I don't think young x-men is the best idea either but "New-X-Men" sounds alot like that Generation X movie...

Yeah, I always forget about the Generation X movie. I don't think I've seen it since it originally aired. I just think a movie about the young X-Men, without the heavy hitters, would seem like a step backward. There would have to be something special about the movie to get it to sell well.

His credibility went out the door the second he said Hulk looks terrible. He is in no position to judge. You're writing Young X-Men for f*** sake.

Yeah, not to mention that he's not going to impress his potential employer by slagging their other properties before they come out.

don't you all find curious that Mavel hasn't include any new x-men related movie in their latest announcements, since many months ago.

No Magneto, no young x-men by Zack Penn.... nothing, only Wolverine (obviously).

Interesting.

who could play surge i wonder???

One person that comes to mind is Nan Zhang of Gossip Girl fame. She's about the right age and build for the character, though I've no idea about personality. An interesting tidbit about her is that she was studying Neuroscience at John Hopkins before she turned to acting!! :shock

I don't know. I'm not feeling this. Dude comes from writing teen soap operas to bash Hulk and Bryan Singer and bragging that he gets lots of money. What? Fox surely knows how to find "talents" to handle their films. :whatever:

I just want to say I don't like Gossip Girl. Nor do I like any American teen soap for that matter. The X-Men franchise needs more substance than that.

To give him the benefit of the doubt, he could have been badly misquoted. I mean, that recently happened with a producer on Watchmen.

first off what an as$! and next u all seem to forget that all actors attached to this franchise are obligated to two movies... making ben, ellen, and kelsey reusable. same with alan if they chose to bring him back.

I pretty sure Cumming is no longer obligated to the X-Men franchise, as Fox chose not to option his contract when he wasn't asked back for X-Men 3.

Alan is NOT obligated for another X-Men movie since they let him go after X2. The rest of them are obligated though.
