X-Men Disassembled

I guess. Unless WWH took place between the current AXM arc and the previous AXM arc.

That would be such a lazy ass way to deal with the continuity problem. Considering how long ago this arc on AXM began, there's no way to argue that it was planned to take place after WWH. Then again, Marvel making sense isn't exactly priority number one now is it.?

It barely matters how long ago the arc began or where it was originally planned to be inserted into. AXM has always existed in a continuity bubble all its own, to be inserted whenever.

The events of Torn and Unstoppable happen in a very, very short amount of time, and thus can be made to fit wherever and anywhere.

I don't even think it really matters, good stuff is good stuff.

That's true, but then, I never pay too much attention to continuity, not when it spans across titles like that with things all happening at the same time. If she's dead and I'm seeing her after she's dead, with no resurrection story, I just assume the story happened before she died.

I make assumptions about where things fit into continuity too. Here, though, we have a situation where she's clearly involved in one crossover but not in another. We know the latter crossover happens after the former, and we don't know where AXM fits in with either crossover, so it's equally likely that AXM takes place between the crossovers and Kitty dies at the conclusion of Whedon's arc. Hence the confusion.

Wasn't there a nice explanation for where AXM fit in continuity-wise with the rest of the X-verse?

I remember there being one in an interview way back. It settled everything, pretty much. I know I've decided that AXM is pre-Messiah Complex, that's enough information for me to fit everything together enough to get through it.

well we know its pre-massiah.. but not sure if its just me, but it seems like all the AXM archs have happened one after the other... in a short amount of time... if this is true, then it happened even before most the New X-men were killed due to the Danger room being shut down, and them having to train with other tech

Wasn't AXM the cause of the Danger Room's being shut down? Since it became sentient and tried to kill everyone?

indeed... thus why i said it had to of taken place before stryker attacked... and if im not mistaken kitty's been seen since then

I just read in the preview for the next Uncanny X-Men (which I think was already posted) that Scott sends Hank off to search for Xavier. That... kind of sucks. We go from Beast doing hardly anything outside of AXM to Beast now being completely absent because he's off looking for Chuck? :(

What's more ridiculous and/or sucky is that Xavier being absent in that last X-Men panel of Messiah Complex is legit, and not Bachalo screwing up.

Eh, I don't mind it. It's not like any of us believed he'd actually be dead, right? Or he'd stay that way for long, even if he were.

That's not the point.

The point was that it was a moment of bad storytelling from Carey, and I'd grown used to good storytelling from Carey.

It was jarring. :csad:
