Sequels X-Men Live-Action TV Show in Development at Fox

AoS is one of ABC's bigger hits on streaming services, it really has been getting solid reception, and it's done pretty well in what you might call "bonus" factors (it's moving some merchandise, the comic loosely inspired by it is a fun read, it's giving ABC lots of hours of content beyond the show with tie-ins and spinoffs, etc.)

Not sure any X-Men fans should be bashing AoS when Hellfire just lost every creative attached to it and the AoS producers probably have more to do with the show than Donner or Singer (the only Fox producers that didn't leave for 24)...

Rotten Tomatoes is a review aggregator that calculates how many critics gave a good review vs how many have a bad one. Not sure how that's "unreliable", it's pretty straight forward.

Exactly. It's math. That said, you have to look at your sample size.

That said, it's fine to like or dislike anything that you want, but to let how you enjoy something be dictated by awards and such is just goofy to me.

So is AOS better than Ant-Man and Avengers; Age of Ultron since its got a higher rating?

I'm not losing any sleep, because I don't want a live-action X-Men tie-in to the film series.

Never said that. Maybe you did?

I only brought up RT because for one thing it did show that overall it receives a positive reception, but also because I know it's something people bring up when it's convenient, and all honesty I don't follow RT seriously too much because I don't always agree with how they come up with things, for example the latest fast and furious movie got the highest rating ever for that series, but I think the best one was a few movies back.

But even then going back to original argument about awards and nominations, the fact is Agents of shield has been nominated for awards and even won a few of them from again different organizations so even using your criteria it has gotten some recognition.

I think even through they lost their show runners, they still could save the show. I'm still not sure about Legion though...someone would have to sell me on that one as I was never a fan of that character.

I actually would have liked to se a Task Force X TV series set a few decades back doing covert stuff, saving the world on the down low, etc.

Well isn't that what Rotten Tomatoes are trying to show? So you were bragging its RT rating then you can't even say if its better than the movies that a got lower RT rating? Okay.

I wasn't bragging, I was simply stating a FACT. It's numbers are what they are.

So one can say obviously it did get a higher number, but that doesn't translate into the fact that it got a higher RT number that it means I MYSELF think it's better.

To clarify, as apparently my actual whole point is lost on you, is that liking a show or not should have NOTHING to do with awards (or even ratings actually) just like what you like and also those things like awards and such do not necessarily prevent a show from being successful, liked or well received.

Nobody is attacking you, Calm down and quit sounding defensive.

I haven't come across any person online that happened to be a Legion fan (it wasn't really pronounced). A lot of the attention Legion has gotten is because of the person developing it. Check out The Unusuals or the Fargo series for a taste of how uniquely awesome this show could end up being.

I've seen the Unusuals, not the Fargo series... I'll probably give it a chance.

I STILL would rather have Task Force X series though...(I just might fan-cast that).

Did you mean X-Force? Either of which would be pretty cool if you got the showrunners behind Strike Back, Person of Interest, or Banshee.

I was meaning the group Logan and Creed were part of in the beginning of X-men Origins: Wolverine that was poorly done, but done better (and a lot more accurately) in a TV series.

In the comics it was I think Maverick, Silverfox, Mastadon, John Wraith, Logan & Creed. But I would probably embellish it and throw Wade/Deadpool and Lady Deathstrke in there like they were in the Hulk vs Wolverine cartoon.

The thing I like about Lady Deathstrike being part of Task Force X is, when she faces Logan in X2, that whole fight becomes deeper because it would then have been established that they had history and worked together in the past, (in my take, she would not have been so adversarial to Logan in the past, I figure Creed and Wade could be pains enough) but sadly neither remember it anymore.

Film critics and television critics are two distinct groups of reviewers. You're comparing apples to oranges.

I didn't say they were the same. A poster just said how I used rotten tomatoes a lot then he brought AOS's rating in RT and when I only mostly use that site for films.

Personally I find film critics more credible, since they are less forgiving and more critical. And I already mentioned why I don't find Rotten Tomatoes for TV reliable.

Ha, I had Stevens as my fancast Cyclops for an X-Men reboot.

Loved Fargo and this choices alone got me sold.

Dan Stevens is awesome. I will watch this.

Awesome. If this does well I hope that means more collaborations between Marvel and Fox.

Legion sounds more personal and cerebral, which is cool. Fox needs an action series though.

I hope "Hellfire" is rethought and changes into a more X-based, action-oriented TV series.

I personally think the TV X-verse should remain separate from the X-cinematic Universe much like DC is doing...it just allows for more to be done IMHO.

All of the creatives left Hellfire (both attached writers and both non-exec producers) for 24, so it very well might get reworked.

I want to know more about the Hellfire Club, does anyone know the issues I should be looking at, major events etc.
