TAS. Was my favorite cartoon as a kid and I still watch if I can find it. Rogue was better and they had Gambit. However, limiting them to that cast forced other characters out and turned some into cameos. That was kind of a downer considering the rich and numerous characters of X-Men.

I couldn't stand Storm's voice on TAS. It was so melodramatic!

I loved her voice, It was a strong and deep womanly voice!!! It was original and apart of what made her stand out!!!:o

I also loved it...There wasn't a voice I didn't like...well except the second Gambit.

The show pretty much ****ed up Angel turning into Apocalypse's Horsemen. I didn't expect a suicide attempt, but him wanting to get cured was the polar opposite of his character.

WTF? He was in it at least. He was a horseman at least. I can't believe you actually complained about that of all things.

TAS hands down.

jesus christ.

He was on the show for like 3 episodes. :o

And I complained because they screwed up his character, pre-Apocalypse, in that episode.

Didn't like TAS. I couldn't stand the art in it. I loved Evolution. But since this is the X-Movies versus TAS, I'd go with the movies.

TAS by default :o

Take the best eps from TAS..turn it into a real life film 95% of the fans probably wouldnt be complaining

agreed. That's why it's not really a fair comparison. Naturally, the movies are a bit more enjoyable just from the rush we all get of seeing the characters played out by real people BUT as you said, let's say you take the first 2 seasons of the cartoon and make THAT 3 or 4 feature films and no x-men fan in the world would complain. We'd all be busting a nut every other scene! lol.

Too close to call. I went for the films only because they needed the help. Can't beat the theme song of the cartoon though.

No contest, the animated series.

They are what the movies should have been like.

the lamest poll on the boards. u have won the award. how are u going 2 compare cartoons to a movie. and the cartoon which aired on fox for years and had many seasons and episodes. theres only 3 films and under 6hrs of movie footage for the trilogy.

Compared to TAS... the movies sucked bad. Which is sad because I tend to like live action over animation. Everthing was pretty much set in stone for them if they used the TAS as a guide but noooooooo hollywood prefers doing washed down versions of everything it touches. :(

Yeah, the second Gambit did suck. I never liked Juggernaut's voice. He sounded... constipated or something. But then again, maybe it was appropriate. :p

the best six hours of Tas are better than the movie trilogy.

the best six hours of evo on the other hand are better than The Tas counterpart just. I feel Tas was a lil over acted in some parts.

however cumatively the best half an hour of all three combined goes to the TAS angel episode of Obsession.

the dialogue, action, emotion, obsessiveness are all too much...it gives me shivers everytime...

i think about 80% of the greatest lines in the show came from that one ep.

I rewatched it at 21 once and was sitting there going "ya know, Wolverine is not stabbing anyone:( :down "
if you think that's jaunting, then watch evo...

no one ever gets punched in the face, EVER...

or come to mention it, neither did any of the power rangers but got stabbed....

To be fair you can't compare live action to animated, you can do a whole lot more with an animated series since there are really no boundries.

They both offer things that the others can't.

If you want to see the X-Men taken seriously, and see how they can exist in the real world, in a very intelligent and mature fashion, take the X-Men motion picture trilogy.

If you want to see the X-Men in a live action comic book, go for the animated series.

i think there were parts of the animation that were mature and very intelligent.

i think there are parts of the movies that are very immature and stupid.

generalizing mediums isn't the way to go...

I'm not bashing the cartoons at all. I love them. I want them on DVD.

But the cartoons are just that... cartoons. They are made for kids.

The movies are made for a more adult audience.

And I happen to prefer more serious, adult entertainment over kid's entertainment.

For a kid's cartoon though, the X-Men cartoon was very well done, and has it's well done parts, yes. But it's still a kid's cartoon, and a totally different version of the X-Men than the movies, made for a totally different audience.

the films are tailored for kids more than adults i feel....

both offer means of escapism and each individual can draw the desired levels of maturity they wish to from something.

as a young adult i can go back and watch episodes not for nostalgia sake but because i can appreciate the messages and stories better in more mature fasion which i can't do for something like thundercats or M.A.S.K. or other cartoons of my youth.

on the flipside, i can get all giddy when seeing real life heroes on the big screen and i can turn back to being 9 yrs old again.

at the end of the day, the large majority of the viewing public are going to be either young adults or young families with smaller children.

I wouldn't classify X-men 3 along the lines of Da vinci code with has the same certification but is genuinely adult entertaiment with adult themes. I think you give these films too much credit.
