You know Spiderman is going to the theators. Got me thinking about X-Men, you know i would go and see an X-Men Theator production... that would be quiet interesting, especially if they made it a Musical.

X-Men was discribed once as an Social Drama Opera like story... think about it... Brilliant way to retain Hugh Jackman indefinatly as Wolverine on stage...

Think of the songs...

Phoenix On Fire!
The Rage In Side - song by Wolverine

Just thinking about it you could sum up all three x-men movies into a 3 act Theator Production...

Call it X-Men: The Rise and Fall Of Magneto

Act one, The X-Men save Wolverine and Rogue from Magneto, Magneto's plans are discovered, He tires to turn the world into mutants via his device but the x-men stop him.

Act two: Imprisioned Magneto escapes via Mystique, Xavier is kidnapped by Stryker we learn of Dark Cerebro. Jean Grey Dies saving the lives of her friends

Act Tree: Magneto wages a war, Pheonix appears, Xavier dies, war on alcatraz and finally the depowering of Magneto.

An X-Men musical could be conceived in terms of story. The issue would be showing the powers. Even modern musical theatre would have issues with some of them.

Actually, the way things stand right now Spiderman is not coming to Broadway anytime soon. They ran out of money and the production is on hold. The marquee is still up, but last I heard the theater is still empty and they're still looking for new backers, which isn't likely.

An X-Men musical? I don't know. I still wasn't sold on the Spiderman musical.

And no! We can't trap Hugh as Wolverine on Broadway! I've seen him in two Broadway shows now and one of the things I love about seeing him on stage is that he's not playing Wolverine and I can enjoy how ridiculously talented he really is (and even better looking in person, I might add). :cwink:

An X-men musical? Awesome. Think Glee with superpowers.

Or even better, a Gothic masterpiece like Sweeney Todd or the Phantom of the Opera.

Yeah but you cant compair Spiderman to X-Men for a start X-Men tackles social issues which is what most theator productions are.

On the other hand Spiderman on Stage does work... About oh 10 years ago, A holiday resort in the UK had a Spiderman Stage show... Officallly licensed. The story was about Spiderman vs Peter Parker... it was pretty brilliant although slightly lower budget than what we would produce today.

The show was designed by stage acrobatics, spiderman was doing backflips and so forth on stage.

Ragtime is back on Broadway now, it's sort of about the same thing. Minus the mutants.

And I thought Spider-man: the musical was bad! I don't think we need an X-Men musical as well! Think about it. Do you really want to see Wolverine prancing around (and possibly singing?) on a stage? Just my opinion but there ya go :yay:

Apparently at a performance of Hugh's Broadway play A Steady Rain on Halloween this weekend, 3 guys sitting in the front row were dressed as Wolverine.

I heard Hugh got through it without reacting, but Daniel Craig burst out laughing when he saw them. :funny:

I think that's the closest we'll see to Wolverine on Broadway. And that was more than enough!

I'm telling you! Wolverine singing the song... Fame! on stage! Id pay to see that...

Remember his name
James,
He's gonna live forever
He's gonna learn how to fight
Wild
Looking for someone too blame
if only logan can remember his name
JAMES!

Hahaha

Ugh! Worst musical ever!! :oldrazz:

You could have Hugh Jackman walk across the gardens of xavier instatue singing

WEST-CHESTER WHERE THE FLOOR OPENS OUT FOR A PLANE... OAKLA... SORRY WEST-CHESTER WHERE THE MUTANTS ARE BLAMED.... OAKLA-CHESTER!

Hey, James Marsden is also an excellent actor/singer...doesn't he get to be in this musical too?

only if the music is written by motorhead or ac/dc

actually it should also be written by joss whedon. and it has to make sense rather just to include music. like if the scarlet witch decides this is the only way to restore peace in the world... we all know she's crazy. and it shouldnt be in theators, it should be an on-going blog, like doctor horrible but longer. maybe 12 or 13 episodes, each 15 minutes long.

Well then they have to get Neil Patrick Harris involved somehow... :cwink:

You know what? Why not Deadpool: The Musical? Forget about making a movie and have it go straight to Broadway/West End. Think about it; Deadpool randomly sings, narrates and breaks the fourth wall. ;)

Yeah but would you really want a Deadpool musical? By the sounds of marvel there looking to make Deadpool the Next Blade... franchise.

Doing a musical would hurt that. But then with X-Men nothing could really hurt its street credit because you could potentally make any spin off you want and test the market with it.

Wolverine be a X-Man Tonight!
Just Be a X-Man Tonight!
Do it Beast, while we serve our guests a feast
Do it for Storm and the Morlocks, and all the other mutants.......
Wolverine be a X-Man Tonight!

ha! an X-men Musical, that would be a singing and dancing train wreck i would pay money to go see.

But if was are gonna do it right lets cast this thing with actors from the Broadway stage.

X-Men: The High School Music - Script
--------------------------------------

Somewhere in Canada, Maybe a forest - Wolverine enters stage left, he is frustrated, he has no memory, suddenly he mutters to himself

"Remeber my name?"

Suddenly someone shouts out from distance in the tree's

"James"

Wolverine is alert but somehow dismisses it and recolates the information he already has... slowly breaking into a song

"I'm gonna live forever"

"I'm gonna learn how to climb
High"

*SNIKT*

"I feel it coming together"

"People will see me and cry"

Suddenly from the tree's Wolverine hears the same voice again

"James"

Still dismissing it he continues his song

"I'm gonna and make it to Xavier's"

"Fighting Pyro with his flame"

The women is slowly being revealed from the tree's still unnoticed she calls out to Wolverine again

"James"

But Wolverine is too far gone into song

"I'm gonna live forever"

Wolverine sigh's but is frustrated

"If only i could remember my name"

The woman comes out of from behind the tree's It's Silver Fox she didnt die at the end of X-Men Origins Wolverine although played by a different actress - one who has spent a few years singing on a broadway musical... Anyway silverfox moves slowly closer to wolverine saying only one thing repeatedly

"Remember"

This thread continues to get stranger and stranger...

I actually think you could do a pretty cool musical with all the x-men stories out there, but as others have said, the SPX aspect would just be really hard, especially with some characters like Scott, or Phoenix. However, you never know, I was extremely impressed with what they could do with Shrek.
