What website did you get those X3 budget numbers from? X3's budget is 210 million on boxofficemojo.

I was just thinking that the other day. I think its gonna do better than X3 and Superman put together...mabe even POTC2..:wow:

I don't know about SM3's total gross, but I wouldn't be surprised if that budget is north of 250M.

North of 250M? What does Sam Raimi expect the movie to make domestically? 500million? Spiderman 2 made less than the first.

that's the reason why X3 wasn't that great. I never believed the 210 million budget.

With more money and faith in the film, we could have get the fire bird, ice slides, more and better flying sequences, both Phoenix, Storm and Angel. More Colossus, etc.

I still believe the budget of X3 was 210 million because Boxofficemojo and Darkhorizons confirm it. Also X3 producer Laura Donner said earlier in an interview that X3's original budget set around 150 million when Matthew Vaughn was set to direct. The departure of Vaughn had a huge impact on the production costs of the film.

and they weren't abble to put the fire bird, the ice slide, better Flying sequences (both vertical and horizontally)?

Sorry, but don't think the budget was that high.

The budget probably was that big, but spent mostly just to get the stuff done by a certain date, not to make it all crazy and excessive and stuff.

it doesnt matter how expensive it was, it matters how good it was.

Hey am i blind or POTC2 not on there?

I was wondering that myself. There are rumors that the production costs of POTC2/POTC3 are quite large. Boxofficemojo reports $225 million for POTC 2. There has been speculation that the combined costs of POTC2/POTC3 are upwards of $400-500 million, but I doubt that (you never know though). I'm willing to bet, however, that Disney has shelled out enough money for both POTC 2 and POTC 3 to hold substantial spots on this list. More information will probably be revealed once POTC 3 is finished and released.

Surprisingly enough, I don't any of the LOTR movies had a budget over 95M. POTC2 is an definite oversight though.

Yes, I've read that they reportedly "paid through the roof" just to get Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley back, so I can't imagine how much it cost to get Johnny Depp back as well. They also ran into problems with shooting delays because of the hurricanes in the carribean where they were filming last year. Although clearly, it's paid off for them so far.

Usually, whatever production costs we do find out are usually just estimates--even what's reported on Box Office Mojo and other box office sites. No studio in their right mind would release actual budget costs on their films.
