X3's competition getting slammed by critics!

Since when did any "normal" movie goers really care about reviews...?
I might end up seeing this, but I'll see X3 more, I promise.

I care. I always follow rottentomatoes. Bad tomatometer wait for when it comes out on rental. ONLY exeptions are huge special effects movies or horrer movies which do there best work on the big screen. I don't understand why anyone see romantic comedies at the movies. What a waste of ten bucks.

Wow now DaVinci has 15 rotten reviews and one fresh from the NY post. That's scary. 5 of them gave it zero stars.

I don't know......these reviews are pretty fishy to me. Panned by critics is always a possibility, but ALL of them? :o

Remember, the same people boycotting this are the same ones that got our Pres re-elected. Who knows what's going on....I just can't believe that a movie with Tom Hanks, and Ian McKellan, directed by Ron Howard can be sooooooo bad.

Hmmmm. Guess this weekend we'll find out!

hah! good point. :)

^ It should still have a good weekend. Of course it will but it'll drop like a rock in it's second week. I doubt it'll hit 75 million like Weekend Warrior says. No way. 55-60 tops.

For all we know, these bad reviews will stir-up more interest from left-wingers......Bet you California will have more diverse reviews! ;)

If Fantastic Four was a commercial success, this should be too :)

^ The Fantastic Four had better reviews.

15 of the 16 reviewers have all said the same thing about DaVinci...Overly melodramatic, dreary, boring, plodding, etc...

They NY Post said Crackling and fast paced. Who's full of it? That's 1 review that's a polor opposite of 15 other reviews. That's strange to me. Usually you like it or you don't. It's either fast paced or it's not. There's no grey area.

Oh man...it's still going huh?

**** yeah!!! :D

whenever I see the titlee of this thread, my heart literally stops cuz I read...X3 getting slammed by critics! EEKS!! That's a scary thought! :o

What I meant was that moviegoers are probably more forgiving for bad reviews of comic book films.

Never in a million years did I think The Da Vinci Code would've been hated this badly by critics. Everyone is panning it.

Ian McKellen, who turns up about an hour into the picture, playing Grail expert Sir Leigh Teabing, seems instantly at ease with the literary dialogue. Teabing had the best lines in the book, and McKellen savors them here. The movie is most alive when Langdon and Teabing are discussing their opposing viewpoints and getting quite hot under the collar about the validity of each other’s version of Christian history.

well Ian is just ranking in the praise

Just watch. This movie will be the butt of jokes on late night shows now.

Critics panning the Da Vinci Con? Gee, that just breaks my heart.

Move over Battlefield Earth...

Up to a 14% rating now. 2 of the 3 fresh reviews are from a religious site and compuserve. LOL

FYI X3 has recieved a 12A rating in the UK for moderate sustained violence. :)

Just saw that at Rotten tomatoes by one of the users.

I could use those same descriptions of overly melodramatic, dreary, boring, plodding etc. on countless number of films that the critics praise to high heaven and end up being garbage. Thats why i NEVER pay any mind to what they say since they are all full of crap. I'll see Da Vinci Code and judge it for myself. They will all probably rip X3 to shreds too, and i won't pay any mind to them when they do.

^ It doesn't prevent me from seeing the movie but the point is it doesn't hurt X3's box office and say X3 get's mediocre reviews...it wont' stand out as some badly reviewed movie amongst masterpieces. I'm not talking about what matters to me or you but the general market. It's also kind of shocking how bad it sounds.

I'm actually real dissapointed to hear so much bad word on the davinci code. If it really is that bad, it will likely help x3 at the box office, thereby making x4 a higher probability, but nonetheless I was looking forward to the davinci code. Oh well.
