XBox Live Help

Hey everyone. I just got my xbox like 2 weeks ago and i just bought myself a new wireless router. but i dont know how to get xbox live to work. i currently have dsl, with the little black box connecting my phone line to it and my ethernet line to my pc. now can someone please assist me in connecting my xbox so i can play online. Thanks Very Much
