Watched the pilot. First hour was boring, slow and totally blah. Second hour had lots of cool ideas and lots of great action and even some fun lines, and basically hooked me in. I'm glad I bothered to go back and watch the second hour after the first hour turned me off enough that I got up and went to bed on the initial viewing. Of course, that first hour is obviously slow because they're trying to introduce the Blade universe to everyone who's never seen the movies... for someone who owns and loves the whole trilogy, like myself, this is lameness.

But, THIS is what I want to talk about...

Blade is talking to Shane, and Shane makes the declaration of "you can't cure her."

What the HELL?

According to the movies, YES YOU CAN. And obviously this follows the movies, because there's a whole conversation about Blind Lady Summer and her funky inhaler device. So WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT? You can cure anyone who's been turned. There's no time limit - Whistler wasn't cured for months, but Karen almost immediately.

I hope they're gonna explain this. Some dialogue about how they don't have the materials necessary to make the cure, or some dialogue about how Shane really wanted to keep Krista as their "inside mole" and didn't want him to cure her because of that. You know, SOMETHING.

Other than that, though, it was pretty tight.

True, didnt even notice that detail :p

I'd like them to go with the "Shane wanting a new mole" explination, makes them a little more darker as to how far they'd go to accomplish their goals.

well isnt Krista going to stay inside but as she is she'll be taking the cure?

Shen probably meant he couldn't cure Krista because she was in the house chthon and they would know and then kill her cause they would know she knew blade. they did mention curing her after she helped them so its not a matter of not being able to cure her at all just not at the moment.

The same way Shen couldn't replicate Somerfields inhaler, as the vampires destroyed her files in Trinity, maybe they destroyed any information that would have helped Shen make a cure.

Did they? When?

But it's not like Summer created the cure. Karen did. Summer wouldn't be the source of the info.

I think the way they made it sound was that they had a cure, but that in some way they couldn't, so the best would be that she was in the house of chthon. Who's with me on the idea that in later episodes or another season, they should bring Karen back into the picture, only then she would be a vampire hunter and they could get some of their stuff back.

Bringing Karen back, with the original actress or a recast would be a good move. I had hoped she would return in either Blade 2 or Trinity. At the least, she could've gotten a mention.

I would definitely like to see her again. Her relationship with Blade was interesting.

With the TV series affording for more development of Blade's character, a little romantic/sexual tension could be just the ticket to really help Jones make the character his own.

Yea, and since it appears that the woman who played karen isn't exactly booming in her career as an actress, they may be able to get her back in there. i would love to have her back.

Same here.
The more links to the movies, the better.
