Watched the pilot. First hour was boring, slow and totally blah. Second hour had lots of cool ideas and lots of great action and even some fun lines, and basically hooked me in. I'm glad I bothered to go back and watch the second hour after the first hour turned me off enough that I got up and went to bed on the initial viewing. Of course, that first hour is obviously slow because they're trying to introduce the Blade universe to everyone who's never seen the movies... for someone who owns and loves the whole trilogy, like myself, this is lameness.
But, THIS is what I want to talk about...
Blade is talking to Shane, and Shane makes the declaration of "you can't cure her."
What the HELL?
According to the movies, YES YOU CAN. And obviously this follows the movies, because there's a whole conversation about Blind Lady Summer and her funky inhaler device. So WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT? You can cure anyone who's been turned. There's no time limit - Whistler wasn't cured for months, but Karen almost immediately.
I hope they're gonna explain this. Some dialogue about how they don't have the materials necessary to make the cure, or some dialogue about how Shane really wanted to keep Krista as their "inside mole" and didn't want him to cure her because of that. You know, SOMETHING.
Other than that, though, it was pretty tight.
