Uwe Boll isn't happy with Wired's review of Postal. We attended the US premiere of the game-to-movie director's latest film and didnt find it especially funny. Boll, in turn, doesn't find us especially funny. Here's the email we receieved yesterday evening:

Chris your review shows me only that you dont understand anything about movies and that you are a untalented wanna bee filmmaker with no balls and no understanding what POSTAL is. you dont see courage because you are nothing. and no go to your mum and **** her ...because she cooks for you now since 30 years ..so she deserves it. People like you are the reason that independent movies have no chance anymore.

I take bsome of what I said back: Uwe Boll can in fact be hilarious! As to Boll's heartfelt concerns, I couldn't let stand the accusation that I am against independent film. Our response is below.

I'm sorry we didn't get to meet at the Postal premiere. I appreciate being invited. I'm sure we'd have had an interesting conversation certainly your email has caused no end of enjoyment in the Wired offices this morning. Although I did enjoy the first segment of Postal, it is true that I think the comedy timing faltered after that and never quite recovered. I can certainly be more specific if you'd like me to. (We did fix the piece with regards to the rating, and regret the error.) That said, I don't want to leave you or anyone with the impression that I am somehow against independent film in general. I certainly want to see independent, envelope-pushing films distributed. We have the same problems in the video game industry, so I understand where you're coming from. If you'd like to do an interview by phone and tell your side of the story, you're absolutely welcome.

He told the man to go **** his mother and said he was an untalented filmmaker wannabe because he said Uwe Boll's film was bad...Uwe Boll is such a hack, he needs to calm the **** down. Toilet Boll does the exact same thing over on IGN.
 
This is fairly typical for Uwe, but you gotta love it nonetheless! How do they know it's really from HIM, though?

I'm just shocked that Wired's review is in the minority so far... this film is getting a lot of positive notices. :dry:

I'll reserve judgement...normally I think Boll's movies are crap. but all the scenes i've seen of postal have looked hilarious.
 
Regardless of how the movie turns out, this e-mail makes him look like a screaming, petulant little child.

People like to hate Brett Ratner, but everybody says he comes off warm and friendly and funny in person. People love to pile on Paul W.S. Anderson, but every interviewer has talked about how humble and down-to-earth and nice he always is. And then there's Uwe Boll. People love to hate him, and apparently he's also a huge dick, so basically he deserves every inch of it until he grows the hell up.
 
Being a good director is all about taking critism well...and it seems that Bolle cannot do this...thus making him a bad director...even if the film does not turn out to be a pile of rat infested elephant poo.

Agreed, Uwe fish bowl is a child with some serious down syndrome LOL
 
I'm starting to think that there is no Uwe Boll, and that he is a character played by a comedic genius.
 
cant wait to get the dvd, because on it, boll has footage of him taking down his critics in a 3 round boxing match. and this movie is getting positive reviews, and his "bread and butter" would be comedic films. and postal is looking like one crazy film.

If by "takign down his cristic in a 3 round boxing match" you mean "beating up the guy from Somethingawful.com whom Boll failed to inform of his 10+ years of amateur boxing experience" then you'd be correct :o

That was only one of the people he boxed.
 
I seriously think Uwe Boll is one of the most brilliant film makers (or perhaps business men would be the better word) of the past 20 years. This simply CANNOT be his real personality. I think since House of the Dead, and the hype around Alone in the Dark, he goes out of his way to make bad movies and build up hype around them and himself. Know why? Because people see them just to see how low he has sunk. He is one of the most talked about and publicized directors in the business because of this as well. Its brilliant, really.
