''You have a wildness in you, child.'' - the Arya thread

Really looking forward to seeing where her story goes next season.

Hear Maisie Williams American accent in the movie Heatstroke

Out of all of the Starks left, I like her best. She's had a great character arc and a ton of development from what she was in the beginning.

Me too. I love many characters but my fave three are: Tyrion, Arya and Jaime.

How Arya became Maisie Williams

The audio quality is horrible but interesting stuff.

Arya truly is the most interesting Stark, was even when they were all alive.

That conversation she had with Ned about what her future would be really stuck with me, way back in the first book. Oh, so she'll be the mother of kings and septons? Nope, that's Sansa. She's a smarter and more likeable Ceresi who won't let the unfortunate fact of being born a woman get in the way. Love her.

Oh yeah I also remember something similar in the show! :awesome:

Arya: "Can I be lord of a holdfast?"

Ned: *chuckles* "You... will marry a high lord and rule his castle. Your sons... shall be knights, princes and lords."

Arya: "No. That's not me."

the most interesting Starks for me are:

1.Sansa
2.Bran
3.Arya
4.Ned
5.Cat
6.Robb

666.Jon

Never understood the Jon hate and Sansa love myself. Sure Jon is the most cliche character but I find his progression from whiny kid to leader to be engaging whereas Sansa and her passivity have always been irksome. Never seen a hint of this progression to political force that others claim, Littlefinger tutelage or no.

I love what they do with her in the later books. It's awesome. :D

She tweeted earlier today that she was waiting at the airport to catch the plane to Braavos...

She can stoopover for me if she likes. :o

The only reason she's stoop for you is to stab you with Needle. :p

Loved Arya's and The Hounds time together, two of my favourite characters who I never imagined would meet up and spend a decent amount of time together, you could see The Hound was starting to like her as well, if The GOT world has any justice, Arya will get her revenge and avenge her family, but then again we all know that when it comes to GOT, there is no justice.

You know I think that is the point. Their roles will invert. In the book Ned says 'You will marry a king' but it didn't make sense because Sansa was betrothed to the one meant to be king. So why did Ned say that? That, I think, is clunky foreshadowing. Perhaps that she's not going be be Queen of Seven Kingdoms but that she will do what Sansa was meant to do, what Lyanna was meant to do and become Storm Queen.

You also have the massive theme of feminism in Arya's storyline and the last Queen of the Stormlands was dragged naked from Storms End by her own bannermen and handed over to Orys Baratheon after he killed her dad. He took her inheritance, erased her millenia old name and seemingly forced her to marry him (you don't marry the guy that killed your dad). He was also a low born bastard. She was a princess, made a Queen and had her crown taken the same day.

Gee, a low born Bastard and a Princess ruling the Stormlands...

Some would say Bob already got revenge for Argella by destroying the Targs but I think a little more justice can be done. Wipe out the Baratheon name.

(people always grab on to the 'you will be found dead in the snow' line uttered by Jon to be foreshadowing but that king line is so out of line it has to mean more. Death is too easy. Plus she's got tonnes of water imagery in her chapters the same way Sansa has air imagery.)

GoT rookie here, but after reading ned telling her "you will marry a king", and after watching the show, i thought this would mean that one day arya and gendry would reunite and perhaps wed. and with him being Robert's true heir (albeit a bastard), perhaps he will take up the name and the throne

Remember that b******* rumour about the love triangle between Jon, Arya and Tyrion in the beginning. :cmad:

I laughed when I read that it was one of the earlier storylines that the writers had planned. :woot:

it's funny, i don't think the R+ L = J&D twin theory is true, but i can't be the only one who sees a resemblance between maisie (who as arya gets compared to lyanna) and brunette emilia.
