No Way Home "You Stopped Me Once. You Won't stop me again!" - Rhys Ifans Returns As The Lizard

Where's the pants we were supposed to get on him lol?

He flexes too hard and destroys them and the lab coat.

Honestly he's almost certainly the least important villain in the film, they could put him in a Donald Duck costume and it wouldn't make much of a difference lmao.

Hard to tell if he looks any different than before has all the shots of him are like to fast/to far out to really get a detailed look.

Wouldn't be hard to change his design while keeping it recognizable. Reptilian eyes, sharper pointier teeth, less pouty lips etc.
Anything that can make him look more threatening.

I'd be surprised if Ifans actually returns for the role. Maybe he'll do some lines, but I kinda doubt it.

Hayden Church may be more likely to return as Sandman, but I feel they could get around that by never showing him in his human form either.

I wish he had the snout, fangs.
Electro got an upgrade; why cant Connors?
Oh if only Raimi got to do the Lizard sigh..

I don't know...

The early tests and concept art for Goblin in SM1 looks way closer to the comics but he ended up with that power rangers get up.

Venom in SM3 has definite differences with comic Venom.

Sandman is really the only Raimi villain that looks ripped from the pages.

I wish they'd had redesigned him a bit but as already mentioned I don't think the Lizard will be that major of a villain here.
It looks like they only made minor tweaks to him, he looks a little less human in the face- he's got like a little spike on his head now, and on other parts of himself. I was at least expecting pants lol, I thought we heard he'd be getting pants.

The spike was always there. It was just barely noticeable.

His design looks the same.

Also. I don't care: I'm a big fan of the Webb design. It looks like the classic Steve Ditko Lizard but bulkier.

Plus. There are certain downsides to using the snout design in live action. A humanoid character can express more emotions as opposed to a completely un-human looking one.

Just wish they added the lab coat and ripped purple pants.

He was an ugly looking character then and he still is today!

Still don't understand why they didn't go with the labcoat or pants at all on either attempt. It was a nice bone-toss when they included the labcoat for 30 seconds in ASM but that's all it was. Labcoat is the thing about the Lizard's design that makes him stand out and 90% of his comic appearances there's clothes and it visually shows that there's a struggle between smart guy and reptile guy, maybe make him go full no-labcoat/pants when he beasts out and tilts to the reptile side completely. That was one villain I was always looking forward to and they dropped the ball so hard on him.

A lab coat is a cute little nod to the comics… but it’s not realistic that it would stay on him or that he would even keep it on after his transformation. Doesn’t make it break the design for me.

That's your opinion. Personally I think he looks badass.7473523-et_q9a3u8aavsjf.jpg

I liked some of the enhancements they gave him, like his eyes. He sounded way too human like though

I did struggle to work out why his voice was abit off. I think they just used Ifans voice without whatever filter they used for TASM.

It was the same thing with
Hardy's Venom voice in the post credits scene.

I will say that Lizard did have a great sequence in the film. When he's in the van and its all about to go down.

"And so it begins" in the menacing voice was great and also "I told you there would be consequences" right after everything falls apart was great.

I'm wondering if the brief look we did get of Ifans was just recycled footage from TASM 1...what do you guys think?
