As if because you're black you're genetically predisposed to liking rap, but even you don't like it which somehow means there's something wrong with the genre.

Or am I reading too much into that?

My point was that a genre that has a predominantly black fan base....and how most people assume that just because you are black, you automatically like rap...can have its critics from the most unlikely of people..

I still don't really get the point. You yourself used the words "predominantly" and "most". Neither means "all".

I do find it funny when a black guy says he doesn't listen or like rap and suddenly expects to be this martyr. Like that Simpsons ep. where Lisa is like, "that's right, a GIRL wants to play football!" and Flanders is like, " sure, we have three girls already." Standing out from the norm is cool, but drawing more attention to it for self glorification...nah.
