Is Shutter Island definitely out this year ?

Not sure. Last I heard, the script was done, and Scorsese was looking to start filming as soon as possible. He's got a lot of projects on his palate, so who knows if this will even be the next movie he films. But the book was fantastic, so if it does come out this year, I'll be there.

See to me i look for different things out of both, that's why i enjoy the different seasons of movies, something to keep variety fresh throughout the year.

Oh, so do I. I was just saying that I tend to find independent movies no one ever promotes until right around the release just as appealing as some of the bigger movies. Sometimes they're better, like Juno or Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, and sometimes they're worse, like Factory Girl. That's what makes the movies so interesting and colorful.

I have the highest ****ing expectations ever. I must lower them.

i keep hearing great stuff about it but i've disliked the films i've seen made by the coen brothers.

only one i liked was the big lebowski.

as for my movies for next year, i don't know.

other than the dark knight, indy, iron man and dbz, i'm not sure what there is. hancock looks entertaining.

i'm looking forward to watchmen the most besides tdk, but that's not in forever.

3:10 To Yuma, Eastern Promises, Sweeney Todd, Juno, No Country for old men, American Gangster, There Will be Blood, Gone Baby Gone, Into the Wild and Zodiac.

How was 2007 disappointing ? ppl keep saying that and it puzzles me, granted Ive not seen all these movies but the critical feedback and reviews on here from the posters suggest it's been an excellent year for cinema.

Summer 2007 was a disappointment.

Did you see the movies i mentioned ?

I've seen four of those ten, and the ones I hadn't were pretty much all the ones I missed and want to see (with the exception of Zodiac). Thinking back, I was probably a little harsh, but I still feel disappointed in the stuff released this year. Just rented Superbad though, which should be good.

I'd say Rambo's box office will be very telling as to how Indiana Jones will do. But I look for it taking in 150-170 domestically, if it has a GOOD run.

You seem to be forgetting that both Indiana Jones's fanbase and pop-cultural status greatly outnumbers Rambo's.
