Ok, so I just come from seeing Hitman and I loved it. What movie based on games or comics do you guys recomend? I have always wanted to make a collection but life always got in the way. This time though I want to get started and would like to have some movies to begin with. your best 5 or 10 if ya have them please. Thanks in advance.

Video Games:

1. Super Mario Bros. Honestly, this is the only video game movie that I would consider really good. I think it's very underrated, it's like a Mario version of Blade Runner. Shame it was such a flop.

Notable mentions for that list would be Mortal Kombat and Tomb Raider. Those two were decent I thought. I have yet to see Hitman but I will get around to it.

Comic book movies, my favorites are:

1. Batman '89
2. X-Men 2
3. Batman Begins
4. Spider-Man 2
5. Superman: The Movie
6. Batman Returns

Notable mentions are Spider-Man 1, Blade, The Punisher, X-Men, V for Vendetta, & A History of Violence.

One video game i fondly remember playing to death was mega man 2 on the NES the game was hard as granite but was very stylish i cant believe it cost me 40 pounds in 1993 (to me back then that was a TON of money). I know i could easily get a NES emulator and play it on the PC but i saw it recently at a car boot sale for 2 quid and i had to buy it! the memories!.

Mmmmmmmmm,

Video game movies never seem to work out very well but I would go for the original Tomb Raider. Its far from a great film but it manages to remain quite faithful to the look and feel of the games.

When it comes to Comic books I can't see past X2 .... I watched it again today and it really is damn good.

Video Games

Movies based on a video game...
Resident Evil Series

My fave films inspired by video games are probably Super Mario Bros. (such a shame the sequel was scrapped), Double Dragon (Robert Patrick was hilarious), and Street Fighter (Jean-Claude van Damme and Kylie Minogue in the military, fighting Raul Julia...insert joke here).

As for comic-based films, I'd recommend the entire "Spider-Man" trilogy, the original "Superman" from 1978, "Superman Returns", "Batman Forever", "Batman Begins", and the first two "X-Men" films (I enjoyed "X3" as well, but the first two are more epic). Regarding future films, I'm looking forward to "The Dark Knight", "Iron Man", and maybe "The Incredible Hulk".

Video games:

Silent Hill; visually it was good, decent story

Mortal Kombat; was a decent martial arts/fantasy type film, plus i enjoy martial arts movies.

Comic Movies:

The Crow; One of my favorite comic movies, just had that grit, and that urban decay feel to it,plus I thought BL did a phenomanal job..

Blade/Blade II; enjoyed the dark themed,vampire/martial arts thing.

V for Vendetta; Though I don't watch it very often,it had a good story, good visuals and good acting..

Batman/Batman Begins; Enjoyed the dark themed of it,good story, good characters..Micheal Keaton is still the shiznit for batmans, and Bale is close behind.

Spiderman I/II; Overall entertaining movies, one of the few comic movies that got away with that bright,happyness-filled,vibrant feel to it...
