Your drinking lifestyle.

I figured it probably was...but that's one of the standard answers I give when others act incredulous at the mention that I don't drink.

I'm pro choice. It's up to you what you do with your baby.

Besides, it's rare I have babies these days.

For a lot of people, their routine goes as followed. Work all week, go to a pub, followed by going a club, puking on the side of the street or waiting in line for an hour to get greasy food, followed by a hangover, and then back to work/looking for work or college on Monday. It's funny because I have Irish and international friends on Facebook. The status updates are remarkably different between them.

Most Irish people will post something like this ''Any1 going out tonight?'', ''Can't wait to go clubbing tonight'', ''Drinking tonight wooooo!!!!11111'', ''wHAT a craZY nite last night'', ''im druhk on here cannot be good'', ''Hangover'', ''Anyone know a cure from being hungover?'', ''Pics from last night going up soon :)(followed by boring nightclub images of people being out of it)''....I think you get the point. It's weekly repetition.

I'd definately have to agree with the top point. I pretty much work solely so I have money for booze.

The bottom part is the unfortunate outcome however. I much prefer nights out without cameras, drunken FB messages etc. I've asked my friends recently to stop tagging me in photos from events, simply because I have about 2000 photos now, and there all starting to blur. There's very little repetition in me standing at a bar with some sort of alcoholic substance in my hand.

19-22 University Student - clubs, pubs, drinking games, dares, theme nights. Drinking was like a sport, and I used to rib guys who couldn't keep up with me. Pubs gave you free shots, clubs did all you can drink nights, and getting up on the bar and dancing was considered the norm.

This is pretty much me now, except for the fact I'm not a Uni student. I just tag along with all my friends who are and reap the benefits of the student lifestyle, whilst avoiding the debts... and the education.

That's kind of standard youth in the uk!

About as close to the truth as you can get!

It's funny really, becuase I don't think I drink that much, comparative to the people around me, but then I came here and realized that there is a lot of variety to how people do and don't drink. It's a bit of a running joke in my family, that my sister refuses to drink any alcohol, and me, my Mum and my Dad all encourage her to drown herself in it. I guess maybe we think she's missing out.

I have a few drinks a month, if that. And I never get drunk.

I drink a crap load of green tea, with family and with friends. Yes, even at parties.

Born and raised in Gary, Indiana. Grew up with guys that did everything from get drunk, get high, and so forth and so on. My old man never drank, so it kinda rubbed off, but I may have a light beer like once in a blue moon if I'm out.

:hehe:

I wouldn't say I work solely for booze.

I'd say my second job probably pays for my weekly booze ups, so maybe that one is tho. :p

You gotta vary the poses! I have several poses and expressions. Spices things up a bit :hehe:

*p.s. So gonna dig around and post some later now! :hehe:

Yeah I have a few friends who did that too. Lucky bastards. Don't you find it hard without a Union card though? Most 'student nights' wouldn't' let us in without them!

First time I realised the state of my culture, was on another forum when someone was talking about getting really pissed on 4 BOTTLES of beer.

And then I told them what I'd drank the night before... (5 pints of cider, 6 double vodka redbulls and 3 shots of sambuca), which was kind of a usual night out back then...

Second time I realised, was when I was staying with my mum through one summer while I was still at uni, and working in a pub. She said she thought I had a bit of a drinking problem.

My response was 'Mum, I don't have a drinking problem. The country has a drinking problem, I just happen to live in it'.

:p

I used to drink all the time.

Now every once in awhile.

Gonna get f**ked up tonight though. Or maybe tomorrow.....we'll see.

I drink a beer every now and then. I only drink liquor at formal parties.

Around 19-21 I was pretty foolish and careless. Was arrested once, and had a lot of cash gone afterwards after I ran their gauntlet. I deserved it though.

I don't really drink that often now Alcoholism is a major thing in my family so I try to keep everything in check. I might have a drink or two when I go to the bar with friends or to a nightclub. I never drink alone.

The last time I was drunk(months ago) I was told that I talked philosophy. Told everyone how little faith I have in humanity and my lifelong dream of being a successful author would probably be my undoing.

I think the last time I had a drink was New Year's Eve 2009 going into 2010. And I've never been drunk, and never plan on being it either.

Edit: Wait that's not true, I had a few sips of a beer a couple months ago and then promptly threw it out. Nasty.

I don't drink alcohol. I don't think there's anything wrong with it mind you to a point. (ie, not an alcoholic) I just never acquired a taste for it...it tastes rotten to me. Literally.

I'll take a drink or two, maby three or four during the weekend...

I drink, but not regularly.

If I drink more than once in a week, that's a heavy week for me.

Hell, drinking once a week is a lot for me.

And now that I'm a bit older, I don't get **** faced hammered drunk anymore. I'm in college, so I do usually drink at the college parties, but I usually drink all I'm going to drink when I first get there, so I can sit for a few hours and get sober before I drive home.

If I'm out at a bar, I'll usually have a couple beers, but nothing major.

I never drink at home. At least under "drinking alone" terms. I'll drink at home if I have friends over. But I don't drink by myself. I think only once have I had a beer by myself at home.

I often drink grape drink, apple drink, orange drink, and strawberry drink.

I went to the local bar with my friends during my college years, but since graduating I don't go out to pubs/bars that often. And when I do go out, I prefer to go to ones that don't get too crowded (even on weekends). I've never been one for big crowds. Even during college, my friends and I usually just stuck to the outside patio. Not only was this THE college bar, but it had a dance floor. So it became an absolute cluster**** on weekends.

I only went to parties where I knew the people throwing them. Drugs were a problem at my school (Seriously. They were everywhere), and I didn't want to be caught anywhere near the stuff. My roommates and I had a few friends in the theatre department, so we usually went to parties at the theatre house. But I always enjoyed it when my roommates and I threw parties. They were low-key, always with people we knew, and we had a beer pong table. And I LOVE moe some beer pong.

As for my alcohol of choice, I'm a beer and wine guy. I have a gag reflex, so it's difficult for me to drink strong liquors straight (I can, mind you, but it's not a pleasant experience). For instance, I drank half a bottle of Captain Morgans one night my freshman year. Let's just say that I don't touch that stuff anymore.

My favorites include:

Miller Lite
Sam Adams Octoberfest
Any beer from the Hofbrauhaus in Newport, Kentucky
Woodchuck Hard Cider
Riesling
Merlot
White Zinfandel
Champagne

When I do dabble in liquors, I usually stick to vodka tonics, mohitos, and whiskey sours.

What about juice?

My girlfriend and I will usually have a drink 2-3 days out of the week, Friday, Saturday and the occasional "school night" if we had a rough day at work. We recently moved to Phoenix, so we don't know too many people in our new location so mostly just hang out at home when we're drinking. Also cops here just love trying to catch people and give them DUIs and since there's little to no public transit to speak of, it's just easier to stay in. In Chicago though, we'd usually hang out with friends at bars or street fests when the weather was nice. When I'm out I always stick to beer and the occasional shot, at home though we usually drink wine.

I drink when I want. If I'm out with friends in the evening or night we'll usually end up back in one of our regular pubs for a couple of pints. I'll drink the odd bottle if I'm out watching the footy, or at home for that matter. I do still get drunk but not very often.

I'm underage, so...I drink whenever I can and get as drunk as possible. :o

It comes with being 18...

Have you tasted ALL the drinks? :p

Being underage for alcohol at 18 is so weird to me...

But then so is being arrested for 'jaywalking' (over here we just call it crossing the road, and it's always legal)...

No wonder you guys get hit by so many cars. :o

In my late teens and 20's I drank a lot. You know the story, in high school getting a friend's uncle to buy beer and drink in somebody's basement.

In college it was partying too much.

Afterward I worked in and around the music business so there was a lot of drinking. My buds and I made a friggin sport of it, till I and my bud Richard both got alcohol poisoning the same night.

In any case, I've not gotten drunk in a while. In fact I can count the beers I've had in the last month on one hand.

But, I did work in fine dining restaurants all through college so I know a fair deal about wines. Then a friend of mine who owns a bar was in a tough spot a couple years ago with staff so he payed for my bartending course and I worked in his bar on and off filling spots here and there when he needed it. This was my early 20's, college, restaurant job, freelance writing gig, studio musician, fill in bartender, teaching karate 3 days a week, any wonder I owned my own house so quickly?

If I get drunk more than a handful of times during a year, it was a big year. Only really drink at big parties. Most of the time I just smoke weed.
