The Naked Gun films are hilarious, but otherwise, **** choices.

I watched about the first four minutes of Date Movie the other day, and I felt sorry for the brain cells I managed to kill off while watching it. They all should've spent their one second of existence on something more fulfilling.

And of all the choices mentioned in this thread, you went with the worst of the bunch. Other than the Naked Gun series, those are some of the lamest movies known to man, devoid of any intelligence. And yes, spoofs are thought of dumb by most people, but in order to successfully lampoon something, you have to do it in an intelligent and witty manner, something the rest of the films on the poll failed to accomplish.

Young Frankenstein. The thing that continuously amazes me about it is just how well Brooks captured the essence of the original Frankenstein films. Honestly, if you removed all of the jokes from YF, it'd still be a fantastic sequel to Son of Frankenstein.

Young Frankenstein is proof of Brooks' genius. As are most if not all of his films.

Loaded Weapon 1 with Samuel L. Jackson & Emilio Estevez. Its basically a parody of Lethal Weapon, it also Parodies Sharon Stone's scene from Basic Instinct were she shows her beaver. I haven't seen it in a long time so I forgot what other movies it parodies.

Scary Movie 1 & 2, the Zucker's take on the Scary Movies series are not as funny as the first 2.

All movies don't have to be witty to be funny.
Most like Dont be a menace, scarymovie, and teen movie
just use steriotype, sexist comments, vulgarity, and some slighty racist remarks for humor.

Sorry, but in order for a spoof to be genuinely funny, they have to have some level of intelligence. Stereotypes, vulgarity and racism are not witty nor funny.

When they're put to good use and done in an intelligent manner. All In The Family and Blazing Saddles are good eamples of how racism can be humorous, as they weren't so much poking fun at the victims of racism but at how rediculous racism is.

Don't Be A Menace, Not Another Teen Movie and the Scary Movie series don't do that. They just poke fun at racism, vulgarity and stereotypes at any given moment, and they always come off flat.

Blazing Saddles uses the N word sparingly and rarley relies on sterotypes like movies made by the wayans who always rely on a charcter (usally played by a wayans, shocking i know) to throw out some sort of sterotypical tripe, Can't belive i'm getting mad over comedy
