And a brief explanation to go with it.

In anticipation for the threequels to Cap and the 2nd X-Men trilogies, I thought this thread would be a good reminder of that infamous superhero installment.
Please exclude any movies that don't conclude trilogies.

Where is The Dark Knight Rises? It is the only good one. The ones in your list, uh, I cannot vote for any in good conscience.

The Bourne Ultimatum.

Yes. I know that doesn't qualify but I don't care.

Added 2 more choices.

The Bourne Ultimatum.

Yes. I know that doesn't qualify but I don't care.

If we are leaving the genre, definitely also can add Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Return o the Jedi, Return of the King,The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and Back to the Future Part III.

Then it would start looking competitive.

The Dark Knight Rises, by default. It is the only good superhero threequel, cementing TDKT as the only fully successful superhero trilogy.

Where is Batman Forever?

Moderator added one extra movie that shouldn't be there. Just like with Superman III, Batman Forever wasn't the final flick in that franchise.

From the list, IM3. I like it a bit more than TDKR.

Iron Man Three. Easily my favourite Marvel flick and a frog's hair better than TDKR.

Honestly, TDKR - which is a good, but not great film, although still better than the rest. Having said that Spider Man 3 and Last Stand aren't as bad as the critics make out, although TDKR isn't as good. Can't say how much I loathed Iron Man 3, I would rather watch Superman III than that !

- And whoever said "Bourne Ultimatum" that is one of my all-time favourite films, and probably one of the best action-thrillers of the 2000s (and the perfect ending to the series, much as I love Bourne, really we don't need anymore Bourne movies).

- If we really are leaving the genre, the best threequel of all time is Return of the King. Nothing comes close, except maybe Return of the Jedi (and Bourne Ultimatum IMO) - and not that close. It's the threequel to end all threequels, and should probably be listed in the dictionary next to the definition of "epic."

Ones I thoroughly enjoy in order of favorites
  1. The Dark Knight Rises
  2. Iron Man 3
  3. Spider-Man 3
  4. Men in Black 3
  5. X-Men: The Last Stand

Despite that I already knew it that list still surprises me how weak third movies have been this far in the genre. Hopefully CW can finally be one that really delivers on all cylinders.

Lol, Batman doesn't look like he's punching even close to the opponent in the back there.

Iron Man Three, the best threequel to have come out since The Last Crusade.

That is until Civil War comes out, and then Avengers: Infinity War.

So many horrible choices the only real options in my opinion was to vote for The Dark Knight Rises or Men in Black III. All other Options were pretty bad! LOL

yeah, part 3's really do suck pretty bad, huh?

but yes, CW will take this cake pretty easily if reviews are to be believed
followed by IM3 since it's the only tolerable film on that list

TDKR by some distance, though it could have waited until CW was out surely?

I assume this is CBMs given the choices and that this is in the Comic Book Films folder, but I have seen other people discussing other genres.

So I voted for TDKR, which is my second favorite CBM ever. However, if all genres are open, I would pick The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly as being the best trilogy closer.

Having not been one of the lucky few to see Covil War early, this easily goes to Iron Man 3. If you can manage to look at the movie for what it is, not what you wanted it to be, it's really very good. It's a brilliant exploration of Tony Stark's character, Killian's plot is really genius, and the acting and writing were all on point. Plus I love Shane Black's style, so that doesn't hurt.

TDKR was crippled for me by the Nolanized version of Bane, quite a few major plot holes, and the pathetic death scenes. It's not bad, per say, just not that great.

The poll? I made it as we wait for Civil War and Apocalypse to really break the mold. They usually fall under bad or controversial.
MIB3 might be the only one that's neither.
