Your ideal directors for DCEU ?

Batman- George Miller
Justice League- Alfonso Cuaron
Superman- JJ Abrams
Wonder Woman- Patty Jenkins
The Flash- Robert Zemeckis
Green Lantern- Ridley Scott
Aquaman- James Wan/Kenneth Branagh
Shazam- Edgar Wright
Cyborg- Rian Johnson
Suicide Squad- Mel Gibson

I'd have no problem with Cuaron taking a crack at the Justice League - although I wouldn't mind seeing what he could do with the New Gods.

Y'all need a reality check and start looking at the indie scene, c-listers and Television Directors. At best if any of the people on the lists do a movie it's a one and done thing.

Making these movies is a years on end commitment. TV directors would be better suited as they're use to those years on end slogs working on the same property.

I would really love a David Fincher, grounded super hero movie I think. A character like cyborg, that can stay on-planet and have real-world conflicts, could be a good fit I think. Not that it's ever going to happen.

Shane Black on a Green Lantern Corps film.

Great idea, I didn’t think about him for GL!! Tails Witika was my pick for GLC. Great suggestion for getting TV directors, I would love to see the Duffy Brothers take on NL Dark or Doom Patrol (and maybe Supes)

Peter Jackson has always been the best option for Justice League. Hopefully that’s the movie he’s interested in

DC should stop trying to copy Marvel.
Make brilliant director lead projects. Go to the likes of Fincher and Cuaron and give them their pick of any character and tell them they can do whatever they want.
DC should have a completely different feel to Marvel.

I think the approach of hiring visionary directors and giving them free reign would work for some characters, but not for others. More precisely, the more abnormal and "gritty" the character is, the more likely this approach is to work (i.e. Burton and Nolan's takes on Batman vs. Schumacher's Batman; Bryan Singer's Superman vs. Richard Donner's Superman). Snyder is a case of a "visionary" director without the talent that the adjective would suggest - thus, his comic book films are more likely to be misses than hits.

I think visionary directors wouldn't pick the household names. The more well known the character the less freedom they'll be given.

Did you mean the less household names? I agree with the second sentence.

A David Fincher Batman movie would probably set a record for bombing.

I would be looking to the best directors of shows like Game Of Thrones and Westworld. There are some genuinely talented people working in high budget TV right now, who could take on a big budget superhero movie. Miguel Sapochnik for example.

Hadn't thought of that, but he could be a really solid choice actually.
