Someone raised this question up a while ago and I started really thinking about it just now... Remember you got nothing else on this island (other than food/shelter) except a TV a DVD and five DVD movies... which five would it be. My five... I guess most people would agree with the top three... how about 4/5???

1) Star Wars: A New Hope
2) Raiders of the Lost Ark
3) Terminator 2: Judgement Day
4) Braveheart
5) The Rock

Wanted to put Jurassic Park in there but I had a Spielberg film in there... Fellowship of the Ring barely missed the cut for me since its incomplete without the other two... couldn't quite fit a Tom Hanks movie in there either.

1. Top Gun - That's right motha ****in Top Gun :cmad:
2. Citizen Kane
3. Brazil
4. Videodrome
5. La Dolce Vita
---

I saw this on The Office. Looks like a fun game. Here I go:

1. Citizen Kane
2. The Godfather
3. Lawrence of Arabia
4. Casablanca
5. Spider-Man

I know my #5 seems out of place, but I love Spider-Man!

Pulp Fiction
Half Baked
Transformers
Empire Strikes Back
Aladdin

A good mix of pure entertainment flicks.

You guys pick too many artsy, serious movies. I'm stuck on a desert Island, I want to laugh.

1) The Naked Gun
2) The Naked Gun 2 and 1/2: The Smell of Fear
3) Caddy Shack
4) Beavis and Butthead Do America
5) Borat

1. Raiders of The Lost Ark
2. Last Crusade
3. Spider-man 2
4. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
5. Batman

I don't know. Comedies could get old real fast, IMO. I prefer the classics and Spider-Man. lol

Dude... I picked Top Gun it covers so many bases its ridiculous :)

Agreed Matt, I would want something to make me laugh

1. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery - Classic
2. Batman Begins - Such a great film. I need some action to pass the time
3. Spiderman 3 - So bad, but so entertaining
4. Sweeney Todd - I could watch this over and over, its not on dvd yet tho
5. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby - Like the greatest movie ever made

But I agree with Matt. If you're stranded on a desert island, you're going to want something to lift up your spirits, because....you know.....you're stranded on a desert island.

I might sound like a jerk, but I have this pet peeve of people using 'your' instead of you're. I blame AIM and texting.

Anyway...

1. Fight Club
2. Back to the Future
3. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
4. The Shawshank Redemption
5. Blazing Saddles

I need movies I can watch a hundred times... Brazil, La Dolce Vita, Videodrome, and Citizen Kane are all films that I can watch again and again, learning something new every time. As for Top Gun, I watch that movie like once a month :(

1. Porn
2. Some nature film about what wild foods you can eat
3. How to Escape A Deserted Island Part 1
4. How to Escape A Deserted Island Part 2
5. Another porno

1. A how-to video about how to build a shelter
2. The hunting/gathering How to video
3. Natural medicine instructional video
4. An instructional video on fashioning coconut sex toys
5. How to video about how to build a raft

Not if you pick good ones. The ones I picked, I notice something new each time and even the jokes I know by heart still make me laugh.

Beat you to the 'picking actual helpful movies' joke' by 1 minute, Hah! :word:

Really? Shawshank? You're on a desert island, with no hope of rescue and you want to watch Shawshank? That just screams reciepe for suicide.

I'm so upset that no one is listing Top Gun since its the greatest movie ever made:cmad:

I dont hate it as much as when people do "hte" and "teh" instead of "the". That gets annoying

I almost put blazing saddles on my list, hilarious movie

These are not movies but I would choose all five Red VS Blue DVDs

1. Cast Away
2. Lost Season 1
3. Lost Season 2
4. Lost Season 3
5. Lost Season 4

------------

But, in all seriousness- don't know really. Just put down stranded on island films and shows.

but it's also a movie about hope. maybe a false sense of hope but it is what it is.

Heavyweights
The Wizard
Hackers
Gleaming The Cube
Beavis and Butt-Head Do America

Oh, yeah. If I could take a TV Boxset over a film, I'd totally take a TV Boxset.
