Mighty Max- Micro Machines - He Man - Jurassic Park - Dino Riders- Dragons- Spawn- Star Wars- Adventures! - Transformers
10. Transformers
Had a decent amount growing up. I was born in '89 and was pretty much through with them by the time by the time Beast Wars rolled around. I still picked up the dinosaur related ones, though. This is a hugely popular line so there's not much for me to say.
My favorite from this line? Trypticon, the freakin' REX that just happens to be the DECEPTICON CITY!
9. Megabloks Dragons
I was going to work Legos into this list somewhere until I realized that Lego never really put out a singular line that I find overly impressive(Except for Aquazone. Consider it mentioned). However Megabloks, always the poor man's Lego, finally struck gold with their Dragons line. The line has limped on today with a few minimal fairly unimpressive expansions every once in a while, but the intial few years of sets remain exceptionally impressive. They literally form an entire world that can easily take up a whole room- these things are massive. Not overly sturdy in design, they are basically make them where you want them kind of sets- exceptionally hard to pick up and transport without tearing them apart first. I began building them on top of thin wooden boards so I could move sets around without fear of them breaking. The line started small, with one basic dragon mold that covered the first wave of amazing sets, featuring two warring factions of knights. Things expanded into the second wave, introducing a two headed riff on the original dragon mold, a new longer thinner sea inspired dragon mold, and a smaller earthbound beast like dragon mold, and several new warring factions. Castles expanded into battlegrounds, caverns, prisons, sea ports, and battle ships(paving the way for the smaller yet also excellent Pyrates line). Things continued to expand and while the line is now in it's twilight years, it remains one of the most expansive and imaginative lines I've ever encountered. Great designs, and great playability.
My favorite from this line? The Vorgan Stronghold!
8. Mighty Max
Man, did this line rule. Creative, colorful, insane designs worked into transforming playsets filled to the brim with detail. Sure, the little guys were too tiny to move, but did that bother anyone?! Went to the places Micromachines wouldn't dare go!
My favorite from this line? Well the face of the line belongs to the amazing Skull Mountain, but I always had a soft spot for: The Kronosaur!
7. Spawn
What a line. This will forever be the line that changed the toy industry forever. To see it go from a cartoony, above average superhero line into the hyper detailed and inventively articulated line to the super hyper detailed statue figures has been quite the journey. I personally am not a fan of where McFarlane and Spawn stand today, but that's part of the line's appeal. It has gone through literally so much change that there is virtually something for everyone. I like it's start and love it's middle, for me the height of the line was the extremely detailed accessorized and SUPER articulated Dark Ages The Samurai Wars wave. From bendy, almost cute monsters with action features and bright paint jobs to futuristic robots to demons and motorcycle riders and connecting figures to the most affordably priced statues on the market, this line has it all- whether you like gothic or midevil or futuristic or even the occassional modern themed figure- this line has it all.
My personal favorite? So hard, and so many. But I'd pick either the original black Violator or the Samurai Wars Jackal Assassin:
