YouTube video uploading problem!

HELP!

I'm trying to upload a video into YouTube. The video is only 29MB long and about a minute or so in length. It's a .avi format, is that the problem?

Everytime I try and upload the video onto YT, it either goes idle in the "Connecting..." phase, or says "YOUR VIDEO IS UPLOADING. THIS MAY TAKE A FEW MINUTES. WAIT HERE FOR A CONFIRMATION TEXT."

It doesn't work at all, I've tried it multiple times. What is the problem?

... Do you wait?
They can take quite a while to upload.
Even if it is only 29 mb.
It takes a lot longer to upload something than it does to download something.

If need be, open a separate browser window, and let that one be specifically for uploading the video.

29MB is quite a big filesize for a film of that size.

Especially an .avi, I would suggest converting it into a .mpg
