has anyone watched this yet?... the first episode was a couple of nights ago on SyFy and it stars Harold Perrineau from Lost... personally, I liked it, maybe a bit more than the Walking Dead, which I also like... and the zombies on THIS show are fast as hell and play possum on your ass...
Harold Perrineau wasn't convincing as a soldier. So I was pleased to see him get off'd in the pilot. I like the actor but not in this role as a Delta Force soldier.
The sniper kid is cool. I like all the characters from the core group. The leader of the cult group was just awful.
I'm surprised not more people are talking about this..
the characters are bland, but it goes into what the walking dead is going into..just instead of it being stretched 8 episodes it does it in 1 i'll continue watching.
I watched the first 2 episodes....I was sick, couldn't sleep, so was up at 3am. it was ON DEMAND......was not impressed.
The thing about the WALKING DEAD is...there are characters you care about, you worry about them....in Z NATION I was just hoping everyone would die already.
This show is so stupid... I watched the latest episode and the part where the general guy falls off the building had to be the worst bit of special effects I've seen since The Amazing Bulk. I guess this show is trying to be mix of TWD, World War Z and Zombieland (or a rip-off of all three, because this is The Asylum we're talking about) and while that could work, the people behind this clearly don't have the talent to make it watchable. It's sad to see Tom Everett Scott slumming it like this; I've always thought he was a pretty good actor but I guess he just never caught on. Now he's relegated to playing D-List Rick Grimes.

If you want to see him do something decent, I watched the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie ENEMIES CLOSER yesterday...he surprised me by playing an ex navy SEAL with some decent fighting abilities.

I'm surprised that there aren't any other people who enjoy this. It takes itself less serious than the walking dead, but I feel that's one of the things I dislike about the walking dead, it wasn't till the third episode I really started enjoying it. It's very different, but the pace is much faster, and as the show has progressed it's gotten better in my eyes.
About time Syfy did their own zombie series. Some of the casting is good and it starts out pretty fast paced. Some decent gore but nothing as good as Greg Nicotero.
The vaccine premise at least provides a bit of hope in what is otherwise a dire situation. Nice Walking Dead reference mentioning the ex-cop at the prison. I wasn't expecting them to kill off the best actor on the show in the first episode. The baby zombie scenes in this episode were pretty awful and I'm not a fan of running zombies either.
"Fracking Zombies!" I thought the second episode was much better than the first. The DJ Qualls scenes were actually kind of good and the oil refinery is a pretty interesting setting. Nice to see the Z-Whacker return
"Full Metal Zombie" was decent.
Romero and Night of the Living Dead are confirmed to exist in the Z Nation universe. It's great to see Bill Moseley show up as General McCandles. The DJ Qualls scenes were kind of funny as were the scenes with Doc stuck in the ventilation shaft. Glad he survived and excellent fake out at the end.
"Home Sweet Zombie"
The zombies running into the electric fence scene was kind of funny as was the drill bit breaking off in dude's skull. Murphy starting to look part zombie. Since it's Syfy I assumed the tornado would have more zombies flying around in it.
Episode 6 "Resurrection Z" This show just keeps getting better and better.
The DJ Qualls intro was good and helped set the mood for the following creepy cult scene nicely. I like seeing the group having to improvise after being unarmed and killing the zombie with the electric hand mixer is one of the best kills so far. I wasn't expecting Charlie to be the one to die.
Episode 7 "Welcome to the Fu-Bar"
I like how the group keeps running into different pockets of survivors. Splitting up the group should be interesting. The outhouse zombie was pretty funny
.
Episode 8 "Zunami" The DJ Quall scenes were outstanding, his best yet.
Yuri turning out to be a hallucination was an excellent twist although you could see it coming. The mass zombie migration is an interesting idea. Doc's thoughts when he was locked in the morgue made me laugh. Murphy is a huge ass, at least he came back for the group though. I'm expecting him to be able to control the zombies even more as time goes on.
Episode 9 "Die, Zombie, Die... Again"
Addy & Mack are kind of boring on their own and the Groundhog Day dream scenario quickly got annoying. However the actress that plays Addy is quite good and the episode picks up a bit in second half.
Episode 10 "Going Nuclear"
The irradiated zombies actually looked kind of cool. Russell Hodgkinson continues to be enjoyable as Doc. I like seeing Warren step up and lead the team. The Murphy scenes were pretty funny.
Episode 11 "Sisters of Mercy"
The actress who played the cult leader was pretty creepy although sort of sympathetic. I'm kind of surprised Abby allowed her self to be manipulated like that and sad to see the actress Anastasia Baranova leave the show. The zombie bear was actually kind of cool. I wasn't expecting the biker they chained up to survive. Once again the Murphy scenes were kind of funny. Can't say I care that they killed off Mack though.
Episode 12 "Murphy's Law"
Murphy golfing was hilarious. Glad they're continuing to explore his abilities. Great ending.
Episode 13 "Doctor of the Dead" was the most suspenseful episode yet.
I liked the flashbacks with Dr. Kurian. The gory lab tech was the best special effects makeup of the series so far. Interesting they turned Cassandra into a zombie hybrid. Glad Doc didn't actually die. That's one hell of a cliffhanger.
So I just decided to start watching this show due to holiday boredom and the fact that all of my other shows are on hiatus. I'm going to treat this show as a parody of the whole Zombie genre and try to not take it seriously here.
Just want to ask, is the causative virus pretty much The Walking Dead where everyone has it?
"The Murphy" So Happy this show is back and more importantly the Z-Wacker. Great intro and I'm glad they got right into the action. The gore in this episode was decent as well. The nukes exploding was crazy and the scientist who hid in the frig burning was really cool. The frozen zombies DJ Qualls had to fight off looked pretty good. Not sure who fired the missile that blew up the nuke though maybe an automated defense system. The scene with Murphy in the shopping mall had me cracking up as did the zombie strippers and it's interesting seeing what he's becoming. Roberta was badass saving that girl and I'm enjoying her character arc. The fire extinguisher kill was hilarious. Preview for the rest of the season looks fun.

what cracked ME up and was just a f***ing hilarious scene was the lesbian zombies and what they started doing and what they eventually ended up doing, LOL... and yeah, the fire extInguisher kill was funny and really different... never quite saw something like that before, LMAO
