**** voice acting. It's never good in epic games like Zelda.

You obviously have not heard the voice acting in FFXII have you?

Seriously. Even Mario has a a degree of voice acting. Its embarrassing that Zelda doesn't do that. Those final scenes would have been soooo much better with some actual voices rather than just moving lips. And yes, I did use the fire, ice and light arrows all the time. They were awesome.

And I stand by the "its sure as hell not better than Ocarina." Cause it isn't.

In your opinion anyway. ;)

Ocarina was a fantastic game, still is better then most. I personally believe that most of you guys waiting for the ONE Zelda game to top Ocarina will never find it.

Why? Nostalgia. We're never going to have that true 100% 3D Epic Zelda feeling again. I will always say NO to voice acting in Zelda, and I still think the voice overs in FFXII are extremely dull and lifeless....much like FFXII itself.

The new bomb arrow combo was more useful than the light, fire, and ice arrows combined in every past Zelda game.

Says you. I hated the bomb arrow combo. It was better when it was just a novalty. BTW, I'm not saying that this wasn't a good game. Far from it. Just that all these reviews saying its better than Ocarina aren't true.

Bomb arrows were better than the fire/ice/light. They were more fun to use and were a good way of killing a bunch of foes from a distance. Much more useful and effective than fire/ice/light arrows.

Anyone who wants voice acting in a Zelda game doesn't understand Zelda.

That's bull****. Sure, you can use your imagination. And that's all well and good. But there is nothing wrong with voice acting if it were done well. Other than "it's good to use your imagination", what other reasons are there for leaving out voice acting?

Two things a future Zelda game should have.
Full orchestra score.
Full voice acting.

I haven't played TP yet but I am convinced I will find it better then Ocarina. Just the fact that it's longer seals the deal for me.

Ocarina WAS good but I'm sure that TP is the same game with more content and with better technology. Nostalgy aside, I'll be surprised if I prefer Ocarina.

Money

Why spend money when you don't have to?

Alot of reviews say TP would have benifeted from voice acting.

Link being a mute can still be respected, just give everyone else voice actors.

Speaking of acting, do any of you guys have any idea's for a Legend of Zelda movie? Which Link would you go with? What story would it be?

How would you do it? One long movie or a series of movies? Animated or live action? How many temples? Who would you want to direct it?

Personally I would write a story based off of the Ocarina of Time, but I would incorperate certain certain designs from Twilight Princess. I would want Luc Besson to direct it. I would hire an two unknowns for Link (young/old) and make adult Link slightly older and larger then most people would expect (ie) Cary Elwes size in the Princess Bride or Antonio Banderas size in Desperado(Regardless they are gonna look small compared to Gannon or most of the monsters they fight. I would cast someone that looked around 19-24 (still baby faced [kinda]).

The movie would be themed around destiny vs. fate, and how even though Link was chosen to save Hyrule, his fate is still up to him.

The FX would be sweet, but the real treat would be the music.

Dont know who would do the music but it would be amazing.

I am sure 100s of threads exist on this topic but what the hell.

I wanna hear your idea's now.

I wouldn't want it since there are a lot of voices in games that a horrid.

And no Zelda movies. EVER.

I definitely agree with that. And Link isn't a mute. After all, how would he answer questions if he was?

Why not, if any video game film has the potential to be taken seriously other then metal gear it's zelda.

I thought maybe he had a little psychic power.

A movie isn't necassary. I hate the idea that something isn't considered good by its own merits so a movie has to be made about it. We've reached the stage with video games where the stories are like films. In fact, half the time, the stories are better than what hollywood does.

Why is a movie necassary?

It has more potential to be a bomb. Halo is trying to be done seriously but look what happened, production has shut down.

I think the text-dialogue is one of the elements that makes LOZ unique as a franchise and incidentally, more cinematic, giving a sense of history and vintage story-telling. Ganondorf's surprise resurrection and transformation at the end of the Ocarina of Time wouldn't have been as powerful to me if it were a vocal performace; the empty, bleak sound of the wind surrounding the ruins of Hyrule Castle coupled with the menacing gasping of a crazed Ganondorf still sends chills down my spine. I guess my point is, I'd rather remember a feeling or sound than a voice.

Should Nintendo feel the need to add voice-actors, I hope they include an option to mute the audio.

...Anyway, if some fans still choose to regard OOT as the best LOZ (despite overwhelming critical opinions to the contrary), you'll here no problems from me. Even though I believe that Twilight Princess takes what made OOT great and dramatically improves on it, we should remember in these comparisons that were ultimately comparing two perfect, elite titles that stand tall as the very best gaming has to offer.
