Zombie Porn

Don't worry, shark porn will take over soon.

drugs do turn people into zombies. just walk greenwich village in NYC on Halloween.

I feel like "porn" is the new buzzword for people who do not know how to accurately describe how they feel.

It started off with "torture porn," which at least kind of made sense because the idea behind it was that people were getting some sick gratification watching people getting tortured in Saw or Hostel the same way they would while watching pornography.

Then came "disaster porn" an whatever else. It doesn't make sense, but people want to be "cool" and go against mainstream stuff so they make up a silly term to mock it.

It's like how idiots constantly use "epic" (epic fail, that was so epic, etc) and "rape" (Michael Bay raped my childhood!).

The Asylum film: Abe Lincoln vs Zombies.
That movie was awesome!

Also, I'm not burnt out on zombie films because I don't keep seeing them, but I am a fan of The walking Dead series, and several older zombie films. the thing is, I think we need something different.

I'll never defend Twilight, but its sort of like we've had old style vampires as monsters. We've had new vampires used more romantically (which ironically Stoker's original book is somewhat romantically charged) but kept the monstrous side to them, and then we had the recent Twilight craze, which neutered the monster out of them and tried to do the same to other horror staples (werewolves, zombies, etc.) but at least it tried (and failed imho) to do something different. Most of the zombie films don't really try to change things up, and then lose the messages about society that ones like Romero's early films had.

I don't like the "porn" tag added to everything though. Its a misuse of the term, and really only feel it made sense with the torture genre since some of those were literally about topping the gore of the last one and that was pretty much it.

Don't worry, shark porn will take over soon.
To be fair, if you compile every shark/whale/giant octopus film from Jaws until 2013's Sharknado, I'm pretty sure you've already got what you're looking for. And I'd be will to bet 90% of them are horrible.

I have also been kinda tired of most zombie stuff lately. I wanna see a werewolf apocalypse.

Felicia Day did that Red movie where her ancestors were werewolf hunters. They killed off an entire town of people but it wasn't an apocalypse per se.

Maybe if you don't want to watch zombie movies anymore . . . you should stop watching movies that have zombies in the title! Were you really surprised that Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies was in fact a zombie movie?

Now I will admit that the horror genre has become over run somewhat by the zombie subgenre. But that's what's popular now so that's what gets produced. It's like how just after Friday The 13th came out in the early 80's, production companies started cranking out slasher films almost on a daily basis. Eventually people just got sick of them. This is the same thing, only with a different subgenre.

And I agree with everyone else, I don't like the term "zombie porn" either. First, it's a total misrepresentation of the word "porn". When I read the title, I thought this thread was about those XXX parodies that keep popping up, this time spoofing George Romero films. That's one twisted fetish. Kinda one step up from necrophilia (or maybe one step away from it).

I almost made it about the XXX parodies.... but I thought that would skirt the line of getting banned just a little too close. As for watching films... I was just having a bad day when I made the thread and didn't really think it through.

I should have listed only films that didn't have obvious zombies and then BAM!! Zombies
I won't just edit because then the rest of the thread won't make sense.
