How exactly does Brainiac work? If you assume the typical Kryptonian origin, then you have to realize that Snyder's Krypton doesn't really have a Brainiac type of character, plus, you waste precious screen time trying to retcon and show how Brainiac was a big deal in Krypton. If you want to go the Colu route, then it reeks of not only being generic, but also Zod v.2.0 since it's basically another alien invasion plot.

I just don't see how Brainiac works in the context of Man of Steel without making a dramatic change in his origins.

With these I think you don't know the real character that is Brainiac. Brainiac doesn't want to invade. he wants the knowledge and he collects the best of worlds and he doesn't care for the planet to conquer it. They can make a good adaption and also they can make an interesting combination Doomsday-Brainiac. Have you seen DC Universe Online trailer and it's comics? That's one of many good interpretations that can lead to JL. and also how can you call Darkseid? He obviously will try to invade Earth also, right?
Also The Colu version could work and serve as a prelude to the destruction of Kandor.
But I meant from the cliffhanger. obviously the villains in BvS will be others. but I think JL is most likely to have an alien threat, no?

We're talking about JL here, not BvS. JL villains are more alien based, not many Earth villains are much of a threat to the JL.

Exactly. we don't need to develop brainiac in BvS we have JL for that

Doomsday, Brainiac, Darkseid, they should all be in this universe imo.

Doomsday could be sent by Brainiac

Ideally:

BvS: Doomsday, Lex
Justice League: Brainiac
Justice League 2: Legion of Doom
Justice League 3: Darkseid

Also it can be this:
BvS: Lex, Parasite/Metallo. Cliffhanger Doomsday defeating all JL members and leaving Supes pretty much hurt. it reveals Darkseid/Brainiac
JL: Brainiac/Darkseid or arriving Earth and the continuation fo Doomsday.
Justice League 2: Legion of Doom. Secret Society.

well first World War is not from Darkseid is from Mongul. :P
Then I think the green martians are extinguished no? I thought MM is the only survivor.

OMG, now that i see this Brainiac manip again, after some sleep, i see how horrible it is...I still like the casting though.

Oh, i have seen it, i also read somewhere that Reeves was to play Dr. Manhattan in Watchmen but had to drop out because of scheduling conflicts. He would have been good.

I feel like Keanu gets way too bad a rap sometimes. Granted, he has been terrible in certain movies, but so have many actors. In the right role, he's great (and no, I don't just mean "Ted"). Hell, I even liked him in 47 Ronin.

That said... I don't think he's the right guy for Brainiac.

River's Edge is definitely my favorite Keanu film. People should definitely check that out if they haven't seen it..

But yeah I don't see Keanu as Brainiac really. He could do it, but his voice would be too recognizable as Brainiac imo.

Benedict Cumberbatch is suggested for everything, but I would love to see/hear his take on Brainiac. Tilda Swinton is another great choice for Brainiac

Yeah, either of them could be good. Cumby DOES get suggested for everything, but Brainiac is one role I think he'd be absolutely perfect for. Tilda is an inspired choice too.

As for Keanu... never seen River's Edge. I'll have to check it out. Have you ever seen The Gift? He was awesome in that film.
