‘The Menu’ | Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, Ralph Fiennes

What’s the betting that the twist is that…

the meat is either human flesh or genetically altered “mermaids”

Can't wait for this, I saw the trailer two weeks ago when I saw Men and I couldn't find it anywhere on youtube.

Same, also saw the trailer with Men but didn't realize it hadn't been released on YouTube yet.

This looks bonkers in the best way possible. I'm also strangely looking forward to Nicholas Hoult in this too for some reason now.

Nicholas Hoult was cracking me up the whole time. Everyone knows that fanboy who would wait for 5 hrs for the new iphone or a 5 star restaurant.

I never want to be a food critic if just for having to come up with five dollar words to describe food beyond 'it's good.' Started off easy like an appetizer, then got dark and unsettling, but gripping to watch at the same time. Ralph Fiennes was the scene stealer every single time and he had such a commanding presence.

Also, if you know, you know...

Saw this last night and really enjoyed it! Easy 8/10 for me.

Nicholas Hoult was just as entertaining as I expected. X-Men First Class was the first movie I saw him in and I didn't think he was a good actor back then, but with every new movie that he does, I feel like he's been getting better and better as an actor.

Overall this was a solid and well-made twisty thriller with some exceptional acting (mostly from Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy) that delivered everything the trailer promised, and then some.

Also it's a must-see for anyone who's a foodie. The food shots in the movie were :awesome:

Anyone else get a strong A24 vibe from the ending? I’m thinking Hereditary and Midsommar because…

The chocolate crowns gave me Paimon vibes and the marshmallow collar and setting everyone on fire reminded me of the ending of Midsommar.

Going in blind but can't wait to watch this this weekend along with Knives Out 2

We got out of this and went to get burgers lol. This was a good movie enjoyed the cast and the mystery.

Also saw this tonight, what a fantastic film. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I had no idea where it was going. Whole cast was great, but Fiennes really commands the show with his presence.

It’s on HBOMax now. It’s the definition of a dark comedy. I enjoyed it quite much.

“Where did you go to school?”
“Brown”
“Student loans?”
“No”
“I’m sorry, you’re dying”

Yes, this was the best line.

This was such a great surprise! I absolutely loved it. I definitely think Ralph Fiennes and anya Taylor joy definitely deserve some award recognition.

Caught this with a friend at Fantastic Fest back in September without really having heard anything thing about it. Loved it so much that for the first time in forever I was eager to rewatch it with my wife as soon as it hit streaming. Hope she enjoys Banshees of Inisherin as much as she loved this.

Tyler:

Finally saw this. This was wonderful. So many enjoyable performances.

Isn’t it brilliant? I just loved Ralph fiennes in this. I think he was meant to be intimidating but I liked him too much.

my only minor complaint is it’s a bit of a shame Nicholas and Anya had to put on American accents. I think it would have worked just as well with their original accents. Gee I was hungry when I finished the film though
