Romance ‘We Live in Time’ | Andrew Garfield, Florence Pugh

We (my partner and I) recently watched this as my 'birthday film', one gets chosen each year for a cinema trip to see.

I'd wanted to see it SO much regardless of timing, but absolutely loved it, for the film itself and personal reasons as well (illness, overcoming adversity, finding your soulmate).

The chemistry for the leads was extremely believable and they felt like a 'living, breathing' couple, on this journey and it played out with the emotional depth that was promised in the premise.

It took a while for me to get used to the multi-time presentation of events but after a while, it fits intuitively to the narrative and then actually elevates the stories' impact.

We have been dealing with similar serious health problems in the last few years and some of the scenes in the film could have been 'lifted' from our own experiences and for that reason and many more, this hit hard, this film.

A great piece of film-making in my view and will certainly purchase for physical media and look forward to watching it again.
