🇷🇺🇺🇦 Discussion: Relations with Russia and the war in Ukraine

Not all weapons and ammo are the same. Are they running out of bullets? Probably not. Are the running out of artillery ammo, that may be a bigger issue. They clearly don't have a lot of those hypersonic missiles, as they seem to prefer the cheap Iranian drones.

As for the threat of them invading, well, it has been proven that they aren't exactly the top military power in the world. And yet, that isn't stopping them from keeping on trying. As for invading more of Europe, well, a lot of that comes from Russia itself.
As usual, Russia makes itself look bigger than it is in that sense.
Their super powered ammo is barely used, instead they use cheap drones etc...that says a lot.

Russia will not invade Europe, even in its Military broken state.
Russia couldnt take a unprepared Ukraine in 2 years and its more than likely that with enough Equipment, Ukraine would have pushed Russia back completely in these 2 years.

There's no reason not to use cheap Iranian drones. You might be buying into the racist argument presented by white supremacists like Budanov and others that there is shame in using weapons from non-White countries like Iran and North Korea, there isn't, those are allies. It's no different than Ukraine/US getting weapons from Germany and France.

As for the war, they're doing something no major country has done since WWII, they're defeating another major power, incorporating it, while minimizing both their own military losses (eatimated as up to 90,000 by the British service Mediazona) and civilian casualties (the UN estimates 10,000 civilian casualties in Ukraine). These are better results than the US achieved against a much weaker country in Iraq (1 million civilian casualties), and US/Israel have killed three times as many Palestinians (30,000 and counting) in less than one quarter as much time.

I find it difficult to respond to intentionally deceptive Putin/Russian apologists and feel like I've lost a few IQ points every time I do. Conflating the press, political, and to a lesser extent, economic systems of the Russia and the US is only be done by the intentionally deceptive or the most stupid of people. Now, if a certain former president were to be re-elected, those divisions could certainly blur. At that point, I could see someone use their political power to attack a free press in more significant ways than by just denigrating them. I could also see said power used to constrict voting rights and look to loosen regulatory restrictions on corporations that would allow them to operate even more outside the law. When Dean Phillips or RFK is jailed, poisoned, and murdered for simply running for president without breaking the law, we can start in on those comparisons. For those who would point to Trump being "targeted", Navalny wasn't caught with top secret documents while out of office, for lying to get loans, or paying off porn stars he was screwing while his wife was home with their newborn son.

The ****?

You do realize where the vast majority of those drones are being used, right? The same targets they used that super special hypersonic missile a while ago. Not exactly military targets.

I may be misunderstanding your post.

I read you as saying that since Russia is using cheap Iranian (and also Russian) drones, then that suggests they don't have the equivalent number of hypersonic missiles. Is that right?

That's probably right. I assume that no country can build millions of hypersonic missiles a year and that will remain the case for some time.

I just don't want to see what Russia does next if Ukraine loses. :(

This is the thing.
Russia has broken its back so Hard for this war, the After will Hit them so Hard, that the idea of Russia then starting a war with europe afterwards, is insane.
They more than likely cant even rebuild the parts of Ukraine they took.
The end of the War will be devastating for Russia.

I hope you're right. :( I have my doubts Russia cab be stopped before they do too much damage.

That man looks like and is a moron.

Regardless, it is very possible that Western countries will not survive the end of White Supremacy / colonialism.

If I was 19 and more mentally fluid I would seriously consider moving internationally, to get out of the West. One friend moved to Botswana. The 21st century will witness far more vibrancy in the rest of the world.

The Russian economy is actually doing quite well, even the IMF, a Western institution, is projecting real GDP growth of 2.6%. The sanctions from the West have been a godsend.
