Film 📽️ THE CINEMA LOUNGE

General Film
That's why you need to fight back with longer windows.
That alone isn't enough. Theaters can also lower food prices to get people motivated to go out to the movies. I get that's where they make their money but the fact that it costs almost $20 for a regular sized popcorn and drink at AMC is more than a little ridiculous.

Didn't say it was enough, but it's one of the things that needs to be done IMO.

30 day play in theater minum would be a dream a this point. Studios seem to chop their own legs with such a quick digital release.

Rip to a legend.

Will open a special bottle in his honor.

Watched about an hour or so of The Two Towers extended cut on HBO/MAX. I had never seen the extended cuts before, kinda regret not seeking them out earlier. Some really great scenes and character moments were cut from the original. Now, I wonder if that was always the plan? To double dip onto the honey money pot, I know them flicks were long enough to begin with, but there is some great stuff in there.

I'm pretty sure they knew early on that they'd be doing the extended cuts. Those things hit DVD shelves just a few months after the theatrical versions came out on DVD.

They're my preferred versions of the films, I've rarely watched the theatrical versions much at all since the extended version of Return of the King came out. I love the complete experience but I don't think the scenes that were cut from the theatrical versions are all that necessary save for maybe two from Return of the King. The Saruman scene in that definitely should have been kept in the final cut, runtime be damned.

I got super mad for about 15 seconds that I couldn't follow him for some reason only to realize I wasn't signed in. :o

Gladiator II

I was never that big of a fan of the original, but still consider it a 00’s classic. No shame to admit, I kinda prefer Troy, if we going sands and sandals epics but I digress. So no real rush to watch it.

This was mostly a blur of nothingness. Denzel is mvp here, but sweet lawd did Sir Ridley and co let him down. The shots weren’t memorable, neither was the score, the plot/story. Awful bloody reckon! This might be the first time seeing this Paul Mescal fellow, but he was simply dull to ok here. I simply don’t get the hype with him, but i’m sure he does better in other stuff to merit this kinda hype with him. So Maximus pretty much dies for nothin in the first one, only to have two lame twins be worse than Joaquin. Lol Eh.

I’m fine with never seeing another new John Wick flick, but wont complain if it happens. I much rather see some spinoffs, Akira vs Cain type ishhh.

I’m still salty that this franchise made one of my favorite bourbons allocated and over priced.

This reminds me yet again that I haven't rewatched Naked since the first time, back when it came out. And damn, that's over 30 years ago now.. Of the Mike Leigh movies I've watched, this is probably the first that I haven't even catched on TV for a rewatch. To say I need to fix that definitely is an understatement..
