Reacher was good. I'm glad it got renewed.:)

AMC Theatres to Price Movie Tickets Based on Seat Location - Variety
There will be three different seat-pricing options. The first is Standard Sightline, described as the “seats that are the most common in auditoriums and are available for the traditional cost of a ticket.” Then there’s Value Sightline, referred to as “seats in the front row of the auditorium, as well as select ADA seats in each auditorium, and are available at a lower price than standard sightline seats.” (Value Sightline pricing is only available to AMC Stubs members, including the free tier membership.) The third option is Preferred Sightline, which are the “seats in the middle of the auditorium and are priced at a premium to standard sightline seats.” AMC Stubs A-List members will be able to reserve seats in the Preferred Sightline Section at no additional cost.

It's not that different from a concert or a sporting event where the crappier seats are cheaper but it's a dumb practice for movie theaters.

In preparation for the oncoming Dracula movies "Last voyage of the Demeter, Renfield, Etc..." (I hope that instead of just one good one out of the bunch like with the recent Pinocchio movies we get some great Dracula Realness) I'm watching some of the classic ones.
And daaaang why did no-one told me Frank Langella was so suave? Guy got game, dang! Gotta take some notes.

They’re trying to equate movies to live events like a concert or sporting event. I know A list members are exempt but eventually they will raise the prices for that too.

They saw Netflix's password-sharing plans and couldn't let them take the prize for "Dumbest Entertainment Company Move Of 2023."

Well, it looks like it doesn't affect AMC AList members so that's at least good... for me.

Finishing the last few Oscar films and...

I didn't care for Triangle of Sadness. I don't get the hype at all. Like... it's technically well-made, but stretches its story way too far, while focusing on the least interesting characters. And the central messaging didn't work because of how haphazard the narrative was.

Finally finished my top 10 for the year.
Top 10 Films of 2022

Triangle was one of the last ones I needed to see outside of the International films. Out of the major players, I still need to see Aftersun, RRR, Crimes of the Future, The Inspection and Marcel before I feel comfortable locking in my Top Ten. Hope to knock them out over the next week or two.

And The Quiet Girl FINALLY is getting released stateside, so that will probably be my last one.

I had The Inspection and Close on my watchlist but I couldn't wait any longer. There was also that documentary All The Beauty And The Bloodshed that still hasn't come out.

And as for Triangle, I totally get why people didn't liked it. I thought it worked for me because how unabashed it is with what it's trying to say about the wealthy. Also it kept me guessing where it was headed and I didn't expect it to be really funny. It felt like three separate movies but they all complemented each other.

But yeah, I never saw The Square and I watched the remake of Force Majeure so this was my first Ruben Östlund film.

Tubi won the night for me with their commercials. I was cracking up at this stupid rabbit one.

I've only used it once, but now I might have to more :hehe:

A very worthy choice. :D

Disney one got me right in the feels, with all the images and voice overs of what feels like my entire movie loving life. It was like my own version of the woman and her dog living decades together. Except here Disney was the dog, and I was the woman, with a child starting at my adorable Disney in bed. :o

So I watched 'Crash ('05)' since it was leaving HBOMax. And HOLY ****. People talking about King's Speech or Green Book being the worst BP modern winners have NO IDEA. This movie is a mess of hackneyed, limp-wristed centrist posturing on race. Absolutely one of the worst BP winners and quite possibly THE worst Best Screenplay winner.

And the absolute most laughable part about the whole mess is that for all its talk about how very bad racism is, the Academy of course only nominated the white dude for playing the racist cop

I mean, to be fair, before Green Book happened, Crash was ABSOLUTELY the movie dominating that conversation for the worst BP winners, and is still included most of the time. :funny:
