The movie is entertaining... It's not great, but it is not a piece of **** either... as said, it's a nice way to have a good time, just that...

If you say so, but Roland Emerich ain't getting my money. I loathe that man.

Damn, son. :down

I'm excited . The sabretooth looks real . Someone in a review i read made a wise crack about everyone human in the movie having perfect teeth but I will ignore it . My response to that gentlemen is , who has time to observe such details ?. Pay attention to the special effects sir, damn you.

This is the early crowd, but it does go along with my expectations.
Although RT was wrong about Rambo...

I'm particularly amused by this review.
Review

A long, long, long time ago, prehistoric people apparently spoke English and, as is our custom today, gave big, inspirational speeches to gear up the troops for battle. Yet they were also warriors with names like D'Leh (Steven Strait) and Tic'Tic (Cliff Curtis), who lead an increasingly large army through jungles, deserts, plains and snowy mountains—all of these areas are apparently five minutes from each other—in an effort to save the beautiful Evolet (Camilla Belle) and other community members from some non-English-speaking enemies.

The actors, looking like they're trying not to crack up, speak in accents that can only be described as "a wild guess about how people used to sound." They're also constantly interrupted by voiceover by Omar Sharif, many moons away from "Lawrence of Arabia," who's forced to slowly, dramatically say things like, "They walked for many days and nights to a faraway land." We'd excuse it all if the well-designed mammoths and other ancient creatures didn't look cut and pasted onto the screen, which doubles the shock/funny factor of scenes like D'Leh instructing a trapped tiger, "Don't eat me when I set you free."

^ damn, i didn't think it was going to get so many bad reviews.

Well to be fair, its only 29 reviews... 4 of which were fresh

Overall, the SFX were very well done, especially with the mammoths.

But, the film just leaves such a bad taste in your mouth, especially in the ending. But it's a lot of other things too, I guess that sort of takes you out of the film that is supposed to be set around 12,000 years ago. They should've just tried to give the movie a different name because historians are going to pull their hair out trying to sit through so many historical inaccuracies thrown into a prehistoric timepiece for the sake of action sequences.

I just felt like there were too many "uh,..what was that about?" scenes to the point where you knew when and why something else random was going to occur.

So, this movie is nothing but entertainment disguised as something so much more, but it's not. It's a random movie about the same old stuff, but with a few new tricks that just doesn't save the movie from itself.

I'd say, wait for the DVD if you can't sneak in for free.

I hope you get caught, go to jail, get man-'handled', and then make a thread in the community forum about your experiences.

It's not complete ****, but it's not really worth paying $10 to see in theaters.
