10,000 Days

What I don't get is, after RATM broke up, I had the radio on and they played the new solo Zack song and it Rocked like crazy.

And then, I never heard another word about his solo stuff.

Are you serious!!?? I never even heard that! I heard him on a Blackalicious album, but he said all but 3 lines . . . he's a slacker anyway, that's why all the Rage albums were like 82 years apart!

and by slacker, I mean avid activist, and probably garbed out in revolutionary digs in the mountains somewhere . . .

Peace til 2morrow beeeyitches!!!

very serious, they made it sound like some triumphant return, like a good John Lennon album after the Beatles broke up, and it was more White Zombiesque Raunchy Techno rap with no guitars, as if in rebellion. Then, poof.

You have to take into consideration that these guys have already had their heyday . . . they were collectively in 2 of history's greatest rock bands ever . . . at least of the 90's, I guess . . . they can't make song after song of 'balls to the wall' heaviness . . . Chris Cornell is goddam 42!!
Jimmy Page is 62; Eddie Van Halen is 49; Tony Iommi is 58; Roger Daltry is 62; David Gilmour is 62; Steve Harris is 49; Steven Tyler is 58; Angus Young is 51; Mike McCready is 41; Ronnie Wood is 59; Donnie Van Zant is 53; Brian May is 59; Mick Jagger is 63; Robert Plant is 58; Joe Perry is 56; Roger Waters is 62; DLR is 51; Sammy Hagar is 59; Kirk Hammett is 44; Ozzy is 58; Keith Richards is 63; and all of them are still rocking just as hard as ever, so don't tell me that the age is the only thing hurting the quality of the band.

You think the PJ was overshadowed? I agree . . . and PJ's last couple albums were a disappointment to me . . . this one, it seems like they're going back to their grunge roots, and you can hear a lot more punk influence, even . . . if any PJ album deserves attention, over the past 10 years . . . this is the one!
Other way around ;) I thought the Tool was overshadowed by the PJ ;) I loved the new PJ with the exception of Parachutes.

They have to keep in mind, that they'll be performing these albums all year long, in addition to the Rage and Soundgarden songs they play in concert . . . that's a huge catalog of high-energy material, that 40-year olds just can't pull off day after day . . . yes, I get your point as far as the radio-friendly bullshyt that their corporate nannies require, but they far from blow, man . . . I'll admit that there are some mid-tempo fillers . . . but I can gaurantee you that they're writing those songs with the mindset that they would prefer to not have a heart attack on stage . . .

Dude . . . they played the SHYT out of that concert . . . plenty good classic Rage, Soundgarden, and Audioslave tunes, which may not ALL be great songs, but they blew my goddam mind, I shyt you not

I agree that the term 'rocked' is overused these days, which is an understatement, but Audioslave goddam RRRROOOOWWCKED!!!
Then it's time to stop. Zakk Wylde is 39, Ozzy is 58, KISS are all in their 50s, and the Rolling Stones all died about 15 years ago, but thast doesn't stop any of them.

Yep that's the one....................and dude I'm slow :( That's what happens when all the Tool threads get shoved to the back of the line.

I've always wondered why, since he's supposed to be such an activist, that he keeps such a low profile. Tom Morello does a ton of activist stuff and has a full-time band. I'm thinking Tom might have been a truer activist than De La Rocha, even though the clearly activist lyrics in RATM songs were Zach's.

they're all ****ing hypocrites. When Rage opened for U2 way back in the 90's they were profitting 250,000 a NIGHT.

If they really wanted to help they'd give it all away, except the essentials.
That's why there are only 7 or 8 true Christians on Earth right now.

Rockstar "activists" make me ILL. :down

Thank you. Age has nothing to do with how well a musician can perform. John Lee Hooker did his thing until he was dead, for crying out loud.

And Keef will until he dies... which will be the fifth of never :o

It is a bit hypocritical for rich rock stars to talk about the evils of poverty when they still keep taking the millions coming thier way but at least they're doing something positive with thier fame.

Then why post in the Tool thread? If you don't like them stay out

Is the album art by Alex Grey? If so, I'll most likey pick it up for the artwork alone.
