10.12 - Collateral - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I'm guessing that the Suicide Squad will be involved.

"Collateral" sounds like something I'd hear due to the Squad, rather than Darkseid.

I am guessing Collateral refers to Chloe. Not sure if she is in this episode or not but I think she will be a major focus of it. It might be one of those things we won't see her till final scene

i dont think so other reports have said allison isnt going to be back to 13th episode.

i dont think so other reports have said allison isnt going to be back to 13th episode.

I always assumed that they would set up the Allison plot 1 or 2 episodes before she comes back. it's a case the episode could focus on her and sort of have a cliff hanger ending(without AM being in this episode)

Collateral could deal with the consequences of the actions of Clark and the other heroes as well as the effect of Hawkman's death if he does die in Icarus. It's possible that the Vigilante Registration Act could pass by this episode.

yea its probably the act going up, outcomes if carter does die, and another attack on the league by Sucide squad.

I think the Suicide Squad will succeed in this season where Checkmate didn't last season. Since Chloe returns in episode 13, this episode could foreshadow her return as well. Black Canary is in Icarus, I hope she's in this one as well if Icarus ends in a cliffhanger. Same with Slade.

well as of right now we only know aliana doing this one episode(ep 11) and slade so far only known to be in episode 9 and and 11. We dont know what will happen yet. But if slade isnt killed i do hope he and other SS members are around for rest of the season too.

I want to see a fight between Green Arrow and Slade. They should've bring in Cyborg and Speedy to fight Slade and we'd see foreshadowings of the Teen Titans. Can you imagine Impulse being shot in the knee by Slade like the comics?

i do hope they get kyle back for an episode too. out of all the jl members he has been my favorite one. As for speedy i too hope she pops in too somewhere.

How good Collateral will be depends on who is writing it.

not really every writer has their fair share of ok episodes, bad episodes, and so so episodes.

So what is going to be Collateral damage in this episode???

Tess finally gets killed? Hawkman finally sacrafices himself to be with Shayera?

carter isnt in episode 12, tess i doubt would be killed mid season.

Tess has the same episode count this season as she did last season. I also hope they don't lose track of the Darkseid story as well. It's important to see where he fits in all this.

Totally I am curious to see where darkseid story goes.

I can imagine Clark and the superheroes being on the run by the Suicide Squad that's kind of similar to the X-Men story, Operation: Zero Tolerance. It'd be cool if they introduced the OMAC's this season.

Smallville's story are best when they take place on Earth and deal with Earth-related things. It never does well with space alien stories like Doomsday or the Kryptonian Army in the last two seasons. Clark at this point could not stood a chance against the likes of Doomsday and Darkseid. Only a fully-trained and fully-powered Superman can deal with them. :super:

He's already fully-powered. Unless you mean he needs to master flying. I would agree with that.

Yes, he needs to get trained, without wasting 8 years to do so. :)
Smallville just needs to sit down and figure out what kind of Superman Clark is supposed to be.

Then when they figure that out, they can have the big fight between him and Darkseid.

However, why do people think the title of this has to do with the Suicide Squad?
Collateral damage doesn't make me think of the Suicide Squad. It makes me think of a big fight and someone getting hurt because of it.
Maybe it's the suicide Squad, maybe it's Darkseid's minions. Who knows.

However, it's pretty much a one sided fight if Clark's going to go up against anyone in the suicide Squad. Unless Manchester Black is coming to Smallville. :)
The only one who could stand up to him, due to his powers.

This is Superman, there are very few people who can hold their own against him.
No one in the suicide Squad would last very long in a direct confrontation with Clark.
Even Deathstroke the Terminator is not going to shrug off more than 1 or 2 hits from Superman. Even Golden Age Superman, the weakest.

And if Lois gets hurt in this episode, due to the Collateral title, well, if it's because of the Suicide Squad, they'll really live up to their name. :)

Yes, I've been busy in real life.

Also, Van, Superman wouldn't go on the run for anything or anyone. He also will never back down from a challenge, or a fight.
Look up the world of Cardboard speech to understand why he will never back down. :)
He even held back against Darkseid. :)

He's just that nice too.
