He's already fully-powered. Unless you mean he needs to master flying. I would agree with that.
Yes, he needs to get trained, without wasting 8 years to do so.
Smallville just needs to sit down and figure out what kind of Superman Clark is supposed to be.
Then when they figure that out, they can have the big fight between him and Darkseid.
However, why do people think the title of this has to do with the Suicide Squad?
Collateral damage doesn't make me think of the Suicide Squad. It makes me think of a big fight and someone getting hurt because of it.
Maybe it's the suicide Squad, maybe it's Darkseid's minions. Who knows.
However, it's pretty much a one sided fight if Clark's going to go up against anyone in the suicide Squad. Unless Manchester Black is coming to Smallville.
The only one who could stand up to him, due to his powers.
This is Superman, there are very few people who can hold their own against him.
No one in the suicide Squad would last very long in a direct confrontation with Clark.
Even Deathstroke the Terminator is not going to shrug off more than 1 or 2 hits from Superman. Even Golden Age Superman, the weakest.
And if Lois gets hurt in this episode, due to the Collateral title, well, if it's because of the Suicide Squad, they'll really live up to their name.
Yes, I've been busy in real life.
Also, Van, Superman wouldn't go on the run for anything or anyone. He also will never back down from a challenge, or a fight.
Look up the world of Cardboard speech to understand why he will never back down.
He even held back against Darkseid.
He's just that nice too.
