I'm not convinced all the subjects we learn are school are either learnt to the correct level or are relevant to everyday life.

pick 10 subjects you believe are vital for everyone to learn and also state to which level and mastery they should be done to.

I've figured sciences aren't really intricate for everyone to be aware of. You can get through life without knowing how stuff works as long as other people do. so I've got

Maths - definite mental arithmitic, maybe calculus level
English - High School (from birth)
2nd Language - Fluent in speaking and comprehension
I.T. - High school
Sex Education - Expert
Religious Education and awareness - 1st year uni (basic grasp and tolerance of all major denominations)
Politics/History - 1st year uni + keeping up on current affairs
Economics and Business Studies - High school
1 Trade (aka plumbing, mechanic, plastering, capentry) - Expert
First aid - Basic
Self Defence - 5 yrs
Sociology - Expert
Home Economics - Expert

I know i can only do 10 but my list is 13. If i had to cut some out, it would be first aid, self defence and perhaps religious education (hoping it may be covered indirectly in sociology).

I only have 9. These would be the Minimum Requirements.

Advanced Popular Culture/Current Events. You can get through life with some heavy duty survivalist classes. But to pass for normal... You need to be able to talk the talk.

(Alternatively you can take Geek 101, Adv 1337 G33k, History of Comics, and Internet Memes and instead of passing for normal join the intarnetz)

unless you were a professional gameshow player, advanced pop culture/current events may not get you anywhere really but it could imply you have some other substance.

advanced geek takes up too many subjects.

Everybody's list needs Biology :cmad:
That is science yo:cmad: Each year they must take one physical science class = physics, chemistry, biology, and anatomy. Anatomy for freshman, physics for sophomores, chemistry for juniors, biology for seniors.

If you're giving anatomy its own year, what would you teach during the bio year? Genetics, cell bio, zoology, etc?

Yes sir. Collegiate biology has nothing to do with the anatomy of the human body and it deals mostly with cellular biology, bacterial and viral biology, genetics, evolutionary history, and cellular chemistry that includes DNA, RNA, cellular respiration, etc.. processes.

I'm very glad some people aren't dismissing art. Even if you don't plan on ever actually being an artist, it's always good to feed your creative side.

Have you noticed how creative children are but as we get older, we seem to lose that... creativity?. I don't believe it's gone, just lack of practice and maybe the fear that what they create isn't good enough. With children, they don't care about their creation 'not being good enough'. I think Art is something that needs to be encouraged. My mom still keeps my first drawing from when I was 2 or 3. It makes me giggle when I look at it. My 'vision' of a person was... pretty out there! Haha!
