The Dark Knight 100 days...

You mean do I feel obsessively paranoid about the incredibly slim chance that I won't be able to see a movie that'll probably hit hundreds of theaters across the country, and that'll probably be in theaters for months after it's premiere?

Yes, I feel like that every day.

HAHAHAHAHAh you jerk...:oldrazz:

I mean on opening night, I feel like I am going to go see it and get shut out

I'm hyped for this movie, but right now it feels like Christmas. Yah know, how you know its gonna come, but your looking foreward to it so much and its not there, so it feels like you'll never get to see it.

School was holding me off pretty good, but now school is over...(although I do have exams) but those are over in 2 weeks...and when that is said and done...

ooooh man, It's going to kick in...

Hey guys I have a question! Is TDK's theatrical release going to cause that kind of crazy mania in the US like for example the Star Wars movies? I remember seeing this hilarious clip about the Attack of the clones opening night when there were like hundreds of people camping outside the theatre dressed as Star Wars characters. Some of them had been camping there for like 3 days or something! I thought that was amazing and I was wondering if Batman movies are causing anything like that?

You see, in Finland we have nothing like that. Sure we have had our own Potter maniacs and LOTR fans but we don't have that kind of movie culture where the lines get extremely long days before the movie even opens.

Someone plz describe what its like to go and see TDK on opening night! Are people dressed as Batman characters? Are there long lines?

Not in my area. But my area sucks, so...

Juha, I doubt if you have anything to worry about. I'm sure there will be at least one thread here dedicated solely to people's experiences watching TDK.

And oh darn, you are right--there's probably gonna be lines 10 blocks long three days before the premiere. Maybe I could bribe somebody to get me tickets since I can't be sitting on the ground for three days straight LOL

Not even kidding when I say this:

I've already had 3 dreams that I was watching the Dark Knight.

And every single dream was SO DAMN REAL! That I was depressed when I woke up.

1st: My brother and I were in line (at the FRONT of the line) and we were about to get in with only 5 minutes remaining...THE END!

2nd: I was running up stairs to get to the theatre where the premier was, and the stairs were SO LONG! And than they lead me outside, so I took the wrong stairs...than I turned around and there was the entrance to the theatre...THE END!

3rd: The Dark Knight was SOMEHOW!!! Available on digital cable, before it his theatres...and I was watching it...I saw the WB logo...the music started...and than...THE END!

I just CAN'T see it...

And now my worst fear of all is:

I will get to the theatre 7 hours early, and I will not be able to get in.

Like I am going to buy my ticket a day before the show...or...WHENEVER I CAN!!!...and I will go to the theatre...when it opens...and I will wait there...until the first showing, until midnight...Because if I don't...I feel like I won't get to see it lol

Anyone feel like that?

LoL, I plan to make the extra trip out of town to the nearest Imax for it. I'll buy the tickets as soon as they go on sale (Spider-Man 3 tickets went on sale two weeks before it came out, so I'm expecting the same) and I plan to get there three hours early for the midnight show. Yay!

Ya I remember my mom called me and was like: "DK7, the Batman Begins tickets are onsale right now...did you want me to get you yours?" And this was a couple weeks in advance...

So I am going to be calling the theatre in like JUNE! lol...

Yeah I guess you're right. It's such an interesting phenomenon, that's all. I would love to see TDK in a theatre filled with huge Batman fans like myself. I'm sure it would be an incredible experience.

I don't think Batman movies have the same fanbase. With Star Wars, it's completely different. My family and I had to wait a week to see Episode 1 because everything was sold out. It was that big of deal. People would be camping outside the movie theater.

With Batman, I haven't seen anything like that. It's like Batman Begins slowly crept into the theaters. There's always a first time, so you never know.

If I don't see this junt at midnight, I'll spoil it too much by reading about it that night haha. AND the opening night just so happens to fall on my birthday. So, we'll all get our tickets online a week early, dress up like the characters, party, and then head to the theater at midnight. Probably the best night of my life.

Batman has a large fanbase and "The Dark Knight" will certainly have it's own 'Mania come this summer, but it won't be like Star Wars. Cinematic wise, nothing has even come close to the fanbase and experience of Star Wars.

Star wars Episode III is the only movie i saw in Imax. This will be the second!!

300 was the only movie I ever saw in Imax, and this will be my second.

I've taken a vow, to get the midnight tickets to see it on July 17th at 11:59 the minute they sell them and another vow to stand in line that day to assure good seats.

i think it's funny your mum calls you by your SHH forums handle..

(i know she doesn't, i know you were kidding, i just read that and it made me laugh, no disrespect at all, love your work, big fan, i'll be going now,
*leaves to fetch DK7 a mocha-choca-cino, double froth & cocoa*)

omg... 300 in IMAX would have been crazy! I couldnt imagine. How was it?
I personally liked 300 better on the smaller screen. The way that movie was shot isn't good for huge screen. The picture looks kind of grainy, and when its on a gigantic screen, it makes the graininess looks kinda bad. Same with 300 on HD-DVD. It just looks bad.

On the other hand, I saw Begins in I-MAX, and it was AMAZING. The Tumbler scene was intense. The speakers they use are extremely impressive. I suggest anybody to go see TDK on an I-MAX screen if you can.
